Seasiders Together

BST have today submitted a response to the club's engagement strategy, as requested. A link to it is below. We've also asked the club's SLO to share it with the supporter groups who were at last Thursday's meeting.

Fair play, It's a decent statement from BST.

The club have got this wrong. Communication and dialogue between the club and fans must improve. It feels very 'them v us' at the moment, particularly with the latest Twitter blocking.

It's like Raggy said last night, calling it seasiders together and then having loads of different factions.
We are all Blackpool fans and should be treated as one.
Except that many fans who post on here find loud reasons for not joining BST and speaking as one fans group.

Sometimes it’s good to challenge.
It’s not like they are being deliberately awkward.
Comms should be simple. We’ve been doing it for thousands of years.
Why over-complicate and fail in the basics?

Tbh there is good intent from the club, but this needs a lot of work and should pull on the needs and contributions of the whole fan base, not just us fan group reps. Raggy said it on the pod last night and I agree. Also start simple maybe and grow it from there. Have a clear objective and measure of success defined.

We don't all have the same priorities but the strapline is and should be Seasiders Together, to help break us out of the doldrums in which we are currently cast adrift. There's a quality OP from Phil on that topic elsewhere on this board 👍

It’s blindingly obvious the club sees the fans as a necessary evil, and will do the bare minimum to tick enough boxes to keep the authorities off their case.
Absolutely no intention of meaningful engagement, exchange of ideas etc.
In this area, no improvement on KO I’m afraid. Lip service all the way.
Tbh I’m at a stage where I’ve stopped caring about this side of it. I appreciate it means a lot to others so good on them for trying to make things better, but I’m just doing the games and enjoying the social side from now on.
Hopefully the club never treat the fans with such contempt again that I/we have to withdraw our support. I don’t think they’ll go that low.

First I have seen of this...

What a load of shoite and well done to BST for providing such an articulate, in-depth response to the drivel put out by the Club.

Have BSA replied yet? 🤣

Best line for me .... bit like if you don't have a Tesco ClubCard .. you might shop with us but we don't consider you a loyal customer!

Finally, we are concerned that there might be a sizeable gap in the plans for engagement. Any fan who :

- does not wish to be included in the Fans Panel

- is not a member of a Supporters Group

- is not a season ticket holder

appears to have no obvious right of access to the club except via the annual survey. This falls short of current standards set by the EFL and we are sure is not something you intend

Only just caught up on this thread, thanks for the namechecks ;)

Just on the way out for a kids football match against top of the league, will dissect the BST statement properly when i get back, but first opinion is that its a decent statement and kinda mirrors what i posted last week, just a bit wordier

Hopefully this can be the start of fans actually working together and no more of this emailing the club for secret meetings
