Season Ticket criteria next season?

I would imagine most on this thread boycotted and stood outside the ground on numerous Judgement Day protests. If someone said to you at one of those “In five years time the O’s will be gone, we’ll have a Blackpool lad as owner, we’ll be in League 1 with a chance of making the play offs. The football is boring at times and we’re really inconsistent, so you won’t renew your Season Ticket because of the manager” I reckon most would say bollocks they’d renew no matter what.

Last season was shit and we all thought this season would be better than it has been, but let’s keep some perspective. 🍊

I’ll be getting ours as usual because like a lot of us on here I’m slightly mentally unhinged and addicted, it’s the expectation of us turning the corner and not wanting to miss being there when we do , we could still make the playoffs (=unhinged)
Simon could get investment from a belekon type ( unlikely but possible)
This seasons been one to forget but next season we could go up automatically ( =unhinged)
Football is mental & unpredictable just looking at Carlisle today & the last 6 Leicester games, my main problem this season is the lack of entertainment, I’ve not long been back from a 7 hour round trip to derby, including a half hour walk from kirkham railway station pissed wet through and trainers squelching, stood up most of the way on the train( not asking for a medal or anything!)
I have loads of respect for those that go all over the country following us as this was the furthest I’ve been this year.
I understand where those saying they won’t renew are coming from so fair enough but to start laying down criteria is pointless.
3 minutes after walking out of the stadium today we had a ridiculous hailstorm to sum up the performance and make me think why we don’t just chill out with a fire stick and beer at home but fuck that.
Just remembered that in another unhinged moment we got the Carlisle tickets 3 days ago, can’t wait,up the mighty pool 🍊
Oh & if anyone has bothered reading this & has found it boring I’ll throw in an interesting fact, bees & wasps are the only insects that can recognise human faces and buildings 🍻

McCarthy’s tactics were far worse than anything this season.
Yes when he came I could sort of see they had gone for a cheap Allardyce relegation saviour. It didn’t work as he knew nothing about any of our players & was painful.
Most of us will renew out ST’s but I’m getting much less enthusiastic. They beat us today because they had a couple of quality players.

I'm a proven bellend so will get one regardless, but I know plenty of fans who won't renew if Critchley is in charge.

I'll be getting one no matter what as that's just how I am. However my daughter has already decided that she doesn't want one. She said if we get rid of Critchley then she might change her mind, but if we don't then she will just go to the occasional game.

I can't blame her, she's young and the last thing she wants to be doing is being bored watching a formation that doesn't work week in week out. Even though we have a good home record, most of the games have still hardly been entertaining. I've been a Blackpool fan for over 20 years so I've got to a point where as long as we win I don't really care that much, but most youngsters like to be entertained, winning isn't enough for them.

I would have thought the season ticket sales and pay on the day would pay for the running of the club, then there is advertisement ,sky money .sponshireship.A good buisness man doesn’t lose money.

didn’t know you was asking one, sounds like your telling me,also wtf is kev.I have answered your question, where is this £5 million going.I thought it was £90 million over ten years,so where’s the other 4.

I’ll assume you were drunk and annoyed when you wrote this? The income from ST, sponsorships, food etc does not remotely cover player wages and staffing costs. It’s all laid out in the annual accounts in black and white.

You said previously that you dont understand accounts but just take the time to read the summary others will post and that’ll explain where the money goes.

So for the ‘good businessman not to lose money’ then we have to either increase ticket prices or reduce player wages or do both?

Your view is that he should spend more money than he is already. My view is that he is already investing massive money from his wealth and to spend more is unrealistic.

You really do say what you want, drunk! I don’t drink, why are you getting rude and clever. If we had good players and the football was entertaining, then surely the gates would increase, thus bringing more money into club.

Problem now mate is a lot of us over those 5 years, or more for some of us, found other things more entertaining to do. Just look at the 10 or 12 Lytham lads that we both have been going with for the last 25-30 years, how many of them have you seen regularly this season, 2 or 3? And when you speak to them it’s cos they’re bored senseless by this awful style of football as well.

So spend how much more to get 1000 more people through the gate?

2000 more season tickets sold would be around £700k (maybe less due to pensioners and U18s). So let’s be generous and say the all spend loads of cash in the ground each home game too and it’s £1m

£1m would get you maybe 4 players on free transfers or 2 players if they both cost £250k. It doesn’t add up to me?

Players that would make a real difference at this level would cost serious money in wages and transfer fee. If on a free you’ve got to compete on wages with Derby, Bolton, etc. So realistically he would need to spend £4-5 million to guarantee we got the ‘game changers’ you’re asking for.

So we need another 8,000 to 10,000 home fans to cover that cost. Or you are asking SS to spend even more money.

I want success just like you but no owner is suddenly turning up with that sort of cash at Bloomfield Road, unfortunately

We don’t want loan players,we need to be signing players on,players that are better than already at the club.Well I did see a chart where Simon was going to put £90 million in over the next 10 years,so where the other £4 million been spent. Its no good us arguing with each other, because we don’t like each others opinions.Even you must admit the football has been dire, apart from a handful of games .But if it gets you a pass into the Moreti bar everyone’s happy,it sounds like you like a drink.Whilst you want questions answered, wtf is Kev?

The season ticket sales have been excellent since Covid, way higher than they ever were in league 1 previously. People will moan now but even if Critchley stays, which looks odds on sadly, the sales will still be good although there will be a drop off. If we have a season that is poorer or on a par with this one next season then the numbers will continue to drop. If we capitulate in the next couple of games I expect it will get very unpleasant for Critchley in the ground, yet somehow we are still in the fight.

I'm moving away for a new job next month and it will mean a 5 hour round trip to games.
Highly unlikely if Critchley is still here that I'll renew.

So what are your conditions?

At least two new strikers - get rid of Bees, Lavery and even Kouassi!
Lavery was the only player that looked like getting a goal in the first half and is usually a handful to most defences . You try scoring goals if you are 5ft and most of the balls you receive are usually high ones from the back . Its pathetic the service he gets and then gets blamed for not scoring.

I don't have any conditions, what a ** ridiculous OP, we've all bought one when the club was fucked and going backwards but now you're demanding caveats? ** conditions, what a load of bollocks.
I've saved your football club, now eat your shit sandwich and stop moaning.

My conditions:

1) Blackpool FC continues to exist.

I will be there, season ticket bought, until the day I die. This thread is full of fairweather fans, and I really don't care if they do or don't renew. Pathetic.
Hey, I'm buying a season ticket so that makes me an uber fan🤦
What a load of utter tosh.
I've supported Blackpool over 50 years and you can count on the fingers of one hand how many times I've had a season ticket.
I've been to 1000's of games over the years. All a season ticket does is guarantee a seat at matches.
I don't think they'll be many sell outs next season 👍🏻

I'll be getting a ST. Those who don't because of the manager, but normally would, shame on you. It really is pathetic and bandwagon behavior after everything we've been through over the years. We have a local geezer made good that owns our club and wants to create a legacy; not an easy task after the neglect from previous owners.

Have I enjoyed the style of football this season? No. Will I desert my club? NO

They are going to have to be clever with the marketing and pricing. A price rise would be madness but I wouldn’t rule it out.

One thing I find strange is, the club make zero effort to try and fill the ground? Bank Holiday and 3 home games on the bounce and nothing. No offers, no 2 games for £30… not arsed.

Another season in League 1 watching that brand of football is going to push a few away. Even the atmosphere has dipped. Away fans miles away from the North. It could be a bleak one.

It’s been struggling for lots of games.

You’d have to just arrived from Button Moon to not work out that Exeter, Wycombe and the like at home with a coach load of away fans half a pitch away from the main singing section in the home end would be a test for even the most excellent atmosphere.

That’s why Bolton in the cup, Bolton in the league, Forest in the Cup, Pompey at home when down to 10 men have all been excellent. When it’s a big game or there’s something on it.

Watching the defence make 30 passes to then pump a long diagonal to a striker under 5 foot 8 at home to Shrewsbury isn’t going to get people up for it.

It’s depressing enough being in this League without trying to make it worse through massive queues to get in, body searches and away fans as far away as possible.

I’m doubting whether our super infrastructure we pay big bucks for understand the town, the fanbase and the club. We’ll know for sure when the prices come out.

I live a three hour train ride from Blackpool. Three hours back.

Thats 6 hours to watch boring, sideways and backwards passing football. I can honestly say I’ve only been entertained against Stevenage and Bolton at home.

Win, lose or draw, the other games have been boring to watch. It’s not about winning football. This isn’t “I’m not getting a season ticket cos we’re not getting promoted.” This is a case of we’re not being entertained.

Play exciting and attacking football and I can deal with the odd loss here and there. We’re a top 10 third tier team. Losses are going to happen. It’s the manner of the losses which is grinding fans down.

No fight, no attack, no passion. It’s BORING. It’s not worth my time and money travelling, let alone the price of a season ticket.

If I lived in Blackpool I’d probably cave in and get the early bird prices. But I don’t. So until this manger does one then I’ll pick and choose games. People’s circumstances are all different
Today was far from boring and for the first 60 minutes we played excellent football. That is the blueprint going forward either in the play offs or div 1 next season. Strengthening needed yes.

Yep. Today up to the substitutions was fantastic stuff. Where was that Blackpool for most of the season? Handbrake well and truly off

I have 3 conditions ,
No 1, I’m still breathing .
No 2, I’m Upright .
No 3 I’m still mobile.
I’m born and bred Blackpool, I’m not as needy or fickle as some and my expectations are very realistic.

I feel like supporting Blackpool is like having a pet tortoise. I had a pet tortoise once , they aren't entertaining to watch but you have a responsibility to watch it .
