Sh1t policing yet again.

I really don’t get how you can police Liverpool v Man U, Spurs v Arsenal, Barcelona v Madrid, and a myriad of other massive crowds with bitter tension, yet Blackpool v Preston needs a press box and 2 flanks of police and stewards dressed like they are dealing with kryptonite, then post match, a Captain Manaring map forcing fans together.
Both games last year had these problems. This is not a new, nor unique fixture. Police are supposed to be experts at this stuff, but act as if they are on a GCSE project.

This “Human RIghts” excuse for not holding people back is an absolute load of bollox and needs to be challenged
Surely an innocent person who has attended a football match and wants to get home safely without having to run the gauntlet of moronic opposition supporters who are out for trouble must have equal rights to protection which can easily be done by holding away supporters back OR, as there is a smaller number of visitors, then get them out of the ground first and onto their buses and away.

300! It was like 20 of our kids v 15 of theirs all throwing bits and bobs at each other. It was quite pitiful on both sides.

I don't get why Blackpool fans are held in for 30-40 mins at Deepdale while in the reverse fixture Preston are allowed out and the police in large numbers try to contain them in the surrounding streets. Just seems an idiotic use of resources.

Lancs Police need to debrief their policing operation & learn some lessons.
They must treat all supporters & police both derbies equally. Locking Pool fans in after the game at Dungdale & not doing the same at Bloomfield Road, just risks causing an 'us and them' situation.
I only hope the scuffles at the ground & south station aren't avenged, against innocent supporters, when we play at Dungdale later in the season.
At least it appears that no one was seriously injured.

For a completely unbiased account of what happened.... started off as 300 with weapons etc to about 30.

Of course all Blackpool fans fault according to some of them and the innocent pne fans, the gentry were just bravely standing their ground.

They say we come out with shit....

I was going to get my car as I park on South Shore car park following @Wizaard's sensible suggestion a couple of years back.

We were quite late or and getting to it as we'd all soaked up the atmosphere at the end of the game as I said in my other post, sharing the experience is wonderful.

Anyhow, there were some Nobbers on South Station giving it the big un to a few Blackpool fans, throwing bottles up towards the ramp off Waterloo Road bridge which our fans were decending and it escalated from there.

Me and TSSBro looked over, and said it was about a stupid a thing you could do really given how few of them there were.

When we got to the car we looked back and thought for a few moments about whether to intervene and basically decided against it. Why spoil a brilliant day getting involved.

There was one Nobber running as fast as he could through the car park looking behind him which caught my attention. He did have the Stone Island patch on his sleeve too which made me chuckle to myself.

That said I didn't see anyone following him.

As we were driving down Yeadon Way there was at least one unmarked police car, lights flashing heading that way.
Of course this isn't mentioned over there, its all Blackpool fans fault.

Why were the nobbers at the top of the steps on that first video when the station platform would be the place to wait for a train no? No one would see them easily down there surely?

There were loads of police on Seasiders way with the video cameras present post match. Too many people for the pavement to safely accommodate and live traffic on the carriageway , many people were stopped from going their normal route home, lots being herded toward town 😡

It seems on PNE-online they are happy for this to be a “bubble match” going forward. Basically kills the away day experience. Is this really where we want to go with this.
An extreme example is Rangers V Celtic, 700 away fans, coach only, straight in away end 2 hours before kick off. And given it’s normally a 12 noon kick off they are in the ground for 10AM and no alcohol is served in Scottish grounds and they are kept behind another hour after the match.

I think most of them on PKE-Online would happily wrap themselves up head to toe in Bubble Wrap before attending a game, just in case any of them stubbed a toe. I doubt you'd ever come across a bigger bunch of fannies on a single forum if you searched the entire world wide web. That JK seems to be one of the biggest wusses... I presume his username stands for 'Jelly Knees'

There are obviously issues surrounding the game as there tend to be at most Derbies, but as ever people like to exaggerate and point the finger of blame and of course, it distracts them from facing up to the pummelling we gave them on the pitch.

I doubt that it would be necessary to turn this into a 'Bubble Match'

Have read that thread on PNE online, I think the 300 claim has clearly been debunked, and those videos that are about clearly show bits from both sides. The Big Fat Boo video is hardly a ringing endorsement of the morals of the PNE support from the day, so as far as I’m concerned it’s mostly bitterness from their fans.

They claim they want it as a bubble match, but even Blackburn Burnley doesn’t have that status anymore, can’t see the police starting that now.

And not one to advocate trouble at all, however these fixtures have always had instances, it’s hardly a new thing as that thread makes out

Nearly right, but not coach only. They just have to be at a designated meeting point two hours before . Before then being marched into ground.

As I mentioned on another thread, I spoke to a police officer on Central Drive before the match and asked him why they don’t keep the Preston fans in the ground for 20 minutes. His reply was they will escape from the enclosure. You just couldn’t make it up.

Yep Jelly Knees is an absolute whopper. Or JK Rowling as he likes to invent magical stories.

There was a few incidents that might have been avoided if police had a small presence at the station, plus a few more incidents, as always seems to happen at derbies.

From their site its all our fault, the nasty uneducated pool hooligans against the innocent, just standing their ground, nobbers. Why they weren't on the station platform waiting for the train like normal people, instead were at the top of the stairs giving it large or on an adjacent car park probably tells us... not saying what happened is right, it looked like idiots vs idiots but was almost complete handbags anyway.
