Sh1t policing yet again.

It's a good job Lancs Police don't have to organise and police a PL game.
The Superintendent who was on the TV & radio doing his PR bit needs to debrief the policing operation & learn lessons. Mind you, they've said they've done that after each 'big' game & then they blame the supporters for their own failings!

Just seen this on the North End board…….seems like they agree about the policing.

Well I thought last seasons handling of this fixture was about as bad as it could get.

This year has absolutely eclipsed it.

Blackpool South train station has just been attacked by 300+ Blackpool fans with weapons and flares, and not a policeman in sight.

Lost for words.
I hope this isn't true. Most supporters go to a game in the hope of arriving home fit and healthy.

Left the south stand and went the way the police sent us. Only to bump into Preston fans coming the other when we got too central drive. Bit of verbals between the groups. Blackpool police are useless. What is hard about keeping away fans back for 10mins. And don't say human rites every other police force does it.

Never seen so many police at a football match, how they can’t control it is beyond me. As everyone says, just keep them in for 15 minutes, it’s a no brainwr.

Agreed. Embarrassed if it is true.
To be fair 300 is still a minority, happens every derby game up and down the land

It’s a shame but not surprising, especially with Lancs police and this fixture

It’s getting to the point were we’ll have no away fans at either fixture ☹️

I walked home across the car parks next to Blackpool South a few Preston fans there but didn’t see any trouble that would have been about 14.45 ish

Lancashire police!

Why wouldn’t they just keep them in for 20 minutes so everyone can clear I’ve no idea.
My mate who was in the away end said they were held in the ground and then on the road outside the away end for about half an hour and then kettled all the way to Blackpool North by the police. Didn’t get to the station until gone 4pm apparently!

It's no worse than other rivalries really, if controlled properly there would be far less incidents.

We can blame fans but all clubs have them, when policed right the trouble is minimal.

Its about time the police were held accountable for the failures, not attendances reduced.

Some clubs have way more fans in far more complex cities and are fine.

The Pool fans weren’t there for a fight, they were just returning the lost flares that the Nobbers threw at the South

The Blackpool police do not police matches very well.

I am not saying all police are w@nkers, I am not saying that they don't have a difficult job, I am not saying that all supporters behave well and I'm not blaming all the police who are actually employed at the games.

They don't help themselves either, at another game just after the Preston game last year, the police stopped all Blackpool supporters going down Bloomfield Road - away from the sea - and a few of the coppers were blaming it on their bosses and that they were just following orders.

One chap had his two little lads with him and was complaining that he was being forced to go too far away from where his car was parked, he said to a young copper that it wasn't good enough but in a polite manner, only for the young copper to snarl at him, "Well if you don't like it, you can always join the police yourself and make a difference".

I know it's no big deal but he's hardly helping the situation and he's probably helping create an "us and them" situation when everybody should be helping each other.

The Blackpool Police need to do better and maybe an idea for them to concentrate on what they are doing wrong and address things rather than just blaming the supporters all the time.

Saw some scuffles by Blackpool. South/Waterloo Road but don't know the full extent of it

If they would just keep them in for 20 mins afterwards whilst the crowds disperse it would save alot (not all) of the hassle

So many OB there today and they can't all have been local so therefore wouldn't have a clue about the fixture or the layout round the ground

Pne online saying a mob of 300 armed Blackpool fans attacked innocent nobbers who wanted no trouble. I've seen footage of an incident at Blackpool South. The truth is some preston fans who were up for it got battered by unarmed Blackpool fans. A few of them took some big shots and gave little back.
Not condoning it and hope all concerned just have their egos bruised but don't make stuff up.
Unless there was a 2nd incident at Blackpool South but I doubt even if there was that it involved 300 armed Blackpool fans!!!

It is a joke, puts me off going to games this nonsense. Was bad for us at theirs, sounds like they had it just as bad today. It's alright if you've got fuck all else to do and are a head the ball but most people just want to go about their business.

There has been quite a lot of crap being said by PNE fans though. Some of it has already been disproven.

Hopefully, we can get some confirmation later.

I'm only guessing but it is possible that the PKE fans didn't actually go to the game and just travelled the short distance to cause trouble?

I was going to get my car as I park on South Shore car park following @Wizaard's sensible suggestion a couple of years back.

We were quite late or and getting to it as we'd all soaked up the atmosphere at the end of the game as I said in my other post, sharing the experience is wonderful.

Anyhow, there were some Nobbers on South Station giving it the big un to a few Blackpool fans, throwing bottles up towards the ramp off Waterloo Road bridge which our fans were decending and it escalated from there.

Me and TSSBro looked over, and said it was about a stupid a thing you could do really given how few of them there were.

When we got to the car we looked back and thought for a few moments about whether to intervene and basically decided against it. Why spoil a brilliant day getting involved.

There was one Nobber running as fast as he could through the car park looking behind him which caught my attention. He did have the Stone Island patch on his sleeve too which made me chuckle to myself.

That said I didn't see anyone following him.

As we were driving down Yeadon Way there was at least one unmarked police car, lights flashing heading that way.

I saw some of it and it was handbags from both sides nothing serious at all. But again could be completely avoided if they just kept them in for 20 minutes.

There was a Blackpool fan a knocked to the ground above the station steps. A small group of Blackpool walked up and around 8-10 Blackpool waded into Preston. Preston took a beating but don’t play the biggun if you’re not prepared for the circumstances.

Majority of their lot who looked for it would have got it, simples. In these situations, no one who isn’t giving it the big one, will get a hit.
