I think both Shayne and Jerry are good players. The latter appears to get plenty of pelters, while Shayne is seen as a Messiah. When he came on last night he seemed intent on pushing the opponent. While I applaud the commitment, it is sadly a sign of frustration with the way we are playing. We are setting up in a system that will not create chances for strikers and short of a Bale, or a Ronaldo, it would not matter who plays up top.

Jerry and Shayne are forwards who can play the channels very well but we don't play the channels. We lump the ball up to Madine and players need to rely on knock downs. Last night Gaz goes off and Jerry comes on and we still persisted in lumping the ball forward. We didnt have another idea of playing. No plan B. There were glimpses when we played the ball on the floor but only glimpses.
A learning curve. In Critch we trust.

Spot on . They are relying on scraps

As has been said many times, the problem doesn't necessarily lie with the strikers. Yates, Lavery and Madine haven't suddenly become bad players. But you can't expect them to perform well when they are not getting any service from midfield.

...or the wide players.

as we've seen with both of them put a ball on the deck and into space for them they cause defenders nightmares and score goals. relying on knockdowns from madine they're feeding off scraps and have to push and shove for everything. both need a run of games in a set system either together ? - maybe not as they're very similar or with madine and a creative midfield player. CJ isn't the answer at this level, bags of pace but no final ball, Bowler put 2 defenders on him, don't lunge in and he's going nowhere as he tries to go through them both. Ethan Robson - sorry son you're a league one defensive midfielder.

we have the structure and systems to be a very good side, we've out performed this year and achieved more than anyone expected (this play off bollocks was never going to happen).

Let's have a few beers and a laugh, look forward to next year with our brilliant owner and just be glad we're not them scruffy twunts from down the road.
