Should the club engage with AVFTT

Looking at the list of groups the club engaged with about the flares/missile affair, should we not have a couple of AVFTT representatives. Someone like @GJJW who did a brilliant job with the sponsorship.

Seems to me there will be plenty on here who won't be part of groups or cliques who would like a voice and to be represented and I do believe the club should ask the site to put forward a couple of our forum members to represent those of us who use this site regularly.

Would imagine many of those supporters groups have a presence on here anyway. Also worth noting the SLO Steve is on here and provides updates and asks for questions just as he does with the ‘official’ supporters groups you’re taking about anyway. Not really sure how it would be possible to engage any more with AVFTT.

You’re all saying no, but why not? Better to be on the inside than on the outside looking in.

I’m sure there are credible candidates on here.

You'll find that a lot of members of the groups mentioned are also on AVFTT

We are not a fans group. Nobody comes on here looking to elect representatives or to decide on a joint policy. We come on to have our say about the club and other things and to test our views against those of other participants.
I can see the idea but it would not work satisfactorily. For instance, what is the AVFTT view on keeping the north side of the East for Blackpool fans only? There isn't one. There are lots of views which we put forward as individuals.

There already is 2 groups 🍄🍄🍄 and NAPM. Almost all the latter (that I know) are already in one of the engaged groups.

Plenty seem to think that the club shouldn't deal with too many groups and that plenty of folk are on here and in one or more of the other supporters groups.

With this in mind, perhaps it would be easier for the club just to deal with AVFTT and not bother with all the other groups ?

I'm sure there are differing views within the supporters groups.

The views expressed by those within the supporters groups are not the views of their members.

On here, you get people expressing differing views on matters and I'd suggest that is a good thing on the whole.

Differing views on here could obviously make things difficult re comms with the club but surely the supporters groups have the same problem ?

In a members organisation there is a choice about how to represent the members views. BST, for example, is constituted on the delegate-democratic model. This means that BST attendees at meetings with the Club, are delegated to represent the majority opinion of its members - I am a member and if BST is not constituted in this way I would like them to let me know and I will withdraw my membership.

You're right, and they are.

There are far too many groups as it is. I’d call for 2 groups only to speak with the club at one go. Next time another 2 etc etc

They would ask half the questions with their own agenda and the other half collated from the other groups/sm.

No way, but I bet Simon Sadler and some of the other higher echelons as well as players and staff have a good read and I think it has been ever thus over the years.

The club should Jack off the dialogue with all the supporters groups and engage purely with the one man that can put them back on the straight….

He can show the coaches where they are going wrong. Advise on formations and round pegs into the correct round holes.
He could have certainly sorted out the scouring and Recruitment pre season and during the window.
He’d have got the ST pricing resolved and begun the correct member schemes. There’s in fact too much to list here, but we all know that one fan who posts on here that could do everything and more……

I don’t even need to name him, as he’s like one of those Legends that’s purely known by one name and one name alone!!!!

You know it makes sense!

I was referring to supporters groups in general and not specifically BST.

As you mention BST, I am not convinced that there are as democratic as they could be.

I guess that's there business, I am not a member.

No, no. I simply chose BST as an organisational model that I know. I've no idea how the Knights, Muckers et al are constituted.

You've got my vote.

Go on Chunky lad.

No but it would be good to have some neutral season ticket holders, to complement the usual cliques who get to attend!

Be interesting to see if BSA start to do another of their fans nights like they did about 20 years ago - did some cracking quiz nights, meet the Manager, meet the Players etc etc .. BST all seems a bit too wrapped up in the Armfield Club and their (very commendable) attempts to save football.

Very much agree with that. I know the Club offer up seats to non-aligned supporters at these meetings. However, I think that would be more successful if the Club were to randomly contact attendees (season tickets and other regulars) to say, 'would you like to attend the next meeting?'. That would widen things out beyond the usual activists.

Defo I nominate Cat and Shandy to represent us.😜

As others have posted we have far too many supporters groups just seems you can set up a Facebook group and then get invited.
It should be only down to BST who could then invite from different organisations not the club trying to appease everyone and if that's someone off here so be it.

Surely this is a forum and not a fans group. Based on that they would have to include Twitter and Facebook groups. Equally the board doesn’t represent anyone. Even PKE fans are allowed on here
They did include one Facebook "group" think it was called Tangerine Seasiders. Not sure if they still attend the meetings or not.

Lol I’m not your man.

We need a man from the Principality to lead us to the promised land. Imagine those minutes in the board meeting. He’d have a run chase going in no time

He’d even get Calderwood back so we could finally move forward
Cometh the time, a hero will rise 👍🚀

I'd be fine with Cat and Shandy going to a Club meeting with the fans. It would be their personal opinions, of course.

You can't have too many supporters groups.

I think the club has a handle on it.

Back to the O/P I don't think we need AVFTT represented as fun as it would be with them Dragon Slayer representing us; it's not needed.

We'd have Sam Allardyce back in charge before you could say Karl Robinson. 😂

We can't agree what day of the week it is, never mind what we think on any football related topic.

I think we should ban all groups who want to go, and force some who don't want to go.

If Pip spoke to them like he does on here, that would be the end of supporter/club meetings.

AVTT representative ?

Good luck with that . The forum hardly speaks with one voice .

You’d need about 200 reps

Yes maybe they could engage with Cat and send him a complimentary match ticket with a letter inviting him to his first ever football match.🤣
