Should their keeper have gone?

Other way round and I wouldn’t have screamed if Grimmy went for that. Cannot believe he stayed on the pitch.

As for CJs touch past him…. 😂😂😂
I didn’t know CJ could even kick a ball that far in front of himself.

Only had one view of it as well and thought the red card would be out. Maybe the ref thought it was a foul but there was a covering defender.

I thought it should have been a red but maybe the ref decided that there was no way in hell that CJ would have scored!
I do think their goal was onside though so swings and roundabouts

Wasn't a pen. Was outside the box. And getting to watch it back from that angle there wasn't a covering defender. CJ took the touch first and then the keepers legs arrived.

Seen it from another angle now and I think it's a combo of CJ's touch and Elijah Campbell the Fleetwood no 6 running beyond to get back on the line that saves the keeper.

I was more annoyed with Dembele for running the same channel as CJ and not trying to either go wider or inside to give CJ an alternative.

Everyone is on the slag CJ band wagon ,but on that clip CJ had the ball kicked against him and it wasn't his touch that put the ball out . Secondly it was CJ that did the assist for Beesley's goal . So if you are going to slag that particular piece of play get the facts right and remember it was his pace that actually got him in on goal in the first place.

At the time of the foul, their keeper was last man and outside the box.

If it had been inside the box it would have been a penalty, the keeper would have been given a yellow, because it's considered adequate punishment.

The punishment for a last man outside the box , keeper or not, is a red card, so in my opinion he should have gone.

To add insult to injury was the yellow for Critchley.

The yellow was given to Banks, it looked like that to me anyway!

Awwww, leave CJ alone he was brilliant 🫶

He hit it too far to the left which may have made the scoring opportunity more difficult as a defender may have got back on the line. Saying that, I still think it was a red

Sat right in front by the goal, always a red took CJ out with no chance of getting the ball which forced the bad touch as when keeper connected with CJ he was about to go round him and the defender closest to him would not of made it back to goal in time to clear, that's what I thought at the time and having seen the video above I still think the ref bottled it .

Not a red. Outside and ball gone away. Covering defenders. I'd be livid if Grimmy had got sent off in the same position.

Ref was spot on.

CJ bottled it a bit because he knocked it in a panic way and I don't think he'd have scored.

Sorry for the level headed post. Ditch the Critch.

did anyone think he got the wrong player when he booked Byers? Could have sworn it was Carey that body checked their guy to to stop the counter attack. .

Their goal was definitely offside when the cross came in. He stepped back then attacked the ball.

Covering defenders? He'd run away from them and the keeper came out. He had to go.

Where were the covering defenders, in the north? The ball was still live. Had to be red.
No. By the time he got the shot away there would have been at least 1 defender able to block. The ref has to see the picture. At the time I'd have said red, looking back, no.

CJ panicked and pushed the ball away too far.

I think the ref called it right (and had a good game generally). You cannot say it was a goal scoring opportunity by the time the foul is made as the ball is moving away from CJ at a rate of knots due to his calamitous first touch. But for the foul, his best chance to get the ball is literally the corner flag.

It was definitely Banks booked. Critch was quivering behind the cooler box.

CJ with a touch like a baby rhinoceros pushed the ball towards the by line. Referee thinking it was going out of play deemed it wasn't denying a goal scoring opportunity so gave a yellow card.
