Shout out for Beesley

** hell. The lad is a warrior. We're in league 1. What do you actually expect our players to be like? I'll grant you he's not exactly, I dunno, Christian Vieri but fuck me, he puts a shift in.
Again is this what we’ve been reduced to? He’s our centre forward and our only expectation is to put a shift in? There’ll have been hundreds of centre forwards in non league who put a shift in. I believe if you’re centre forward for the mighty Pool you might have a degree of technique, vision, pace. Have our standards really slipped that much? For crying out loud he’s had a number of lower league clubs all of whom got rid.

Should have done so much better with that chance first half where he took way too long allowing a defender to get across and block his shot. For me, far from his best performance but he worked hard.
We’ve got some of our own fans saying they’d have him over Bishop 🙈

There’s no way with the same chance Bishop wouldn’t have got a shot off.

Beesley makes good runs and grafts. He’s really good without the ball. Not sure that’s ideal for a footballer but he is.

Nah, it's basic appreciation of the game mate. I appreciate Dembele. I appreciate Beesley. They are different. Beesley works his arse off doing the hard and thankless task of winning headers, holding up the ball, pulling the centre halves about. Calling him out cos he's not perfect is like complaining that Kaddy isn't tall.

In an ideal world, Beesley would have the touch of Kaddy and the pace of CJ and the scheming mind of Wes or Charlie aye, but it's hardly a realistic position to take is it?

You could pull every single one of our players to bits if you put your mind to it, but why do that? What's the point? We play better with Beesley generally because we need a basic outball due to the overall nature of the team. He allows us to fanny about at the back less and the ball sometimes stick when we go direct. See Madine previously.

To be quite fair, earlier this year, I really didn't think he was up to it and I said so. He's changed my mind. Of what we have now, he's worth a shirt. No question. That he's earned the shirt largely on his his hard work? - I really admire that. I love a player who is playing on the edge of their ability, working their arse off. Give me that as a model for the rest over a more talented player just cruising within their comfort zone every single day.

I agree with this. On yesterday’s performance first half (11 v 11), Beesley had better hold up play than Bishop. He also won more flick ons for Rhodes, than Colby did versus Marv or Penn

He ran the channels better than Bishop and neither player got a shot on target. Their centre backs were big lads just like Marv, so like for like, Bees was better in that game.

Beesley is the type of player fans easily warm to. The fact is though I could have eaten a whole meat and potato pie by the time he gets the ball under control. He does make up for this with his work load and sometimes that is enough in the lower leagues. It's those fine margins that are often the difference between success and failure.

One thing is for sure, I can't believe Kouassi was ever picked over Beesley.

I think, to be fair to Bees, he's had to do a degree of winning over of the fans and roll back sixth months and there wasn't a great deal of love for the lad.

In this league it’s rare to have a player that can do everything, which is what our fans seems to expect.

Beesley has been a very good second striker for us, wins headers, brings others into play, works his socks off and gets his name on the scoresheet a reasonable amount of the time. Rhodes seems to link up well with him and that’s where his value lies in this team.

To say he’s shit for us, in my opinion, shows a lack of football knowledge. If you’re focusing on the first touch of target man rather than his knock downs, hold up play and physical contribution to the game then you will forever be disappointed in their performance.

😀Yes he’s excellent until he gets the ball. Just what you need up front. If he was the only option then ok but Joseph and Lavery, despite limitations, are miles better and pose far more of a threat.

Like a mobile Gaz that scores a few goals?

He's scored as many goals as Joseph and Lavery have between them. And his minutes per goal is lower than either of theirs.

Go and watch our goal away at Stoke in 22. Do it now. Then come back to me 👍

I don’t agree with much of what ATG spouts but give over, Wiz. We will fall short because of the manager.
That's probably the biggest reason ,but shouting out insults and putting insults on the internet about our own players is probably the second biggest reason . Players can improve or have good games or bad games . Insulting our own has never helped anyone.

That has to be right.

How can it help insulting our own players.
Trouble is supporters are passionate and sometimes just can’t control their emotions.

Hopefully the players don’t go on AVFTT, I wouldn’t🫣

Lavery is made of Teflon. Nothing sticks at all.

not about growing up at all but when you have a go at posters for criticising.players then i think it perfectly reasonable to point out that you are a hypocrite because you are just as guilty of it yourself.
If you are on about Bowler as I have pointed out ,I never called him sh@t or said he was not fit to play in the Championship . I still maintain that he was a one trick pony and he was greedy sometimes. If he had read my posts he could have corrected both criticisms. Calling someone sh@t cannot be corrected unless they know the reason why they are classed as sh@t . The stuff I wrote could because it was not slagging it was just plain criticism.

Beesley showing consistency would be a major asset to any side - the problem is the games where we have lost or been second best are the games where generally he's not played well or been anonymous.

more laughable stuff! So calling a player a "one trick pony" isn't an insult then? Practice what you preach, you hypocrite! And jeez, if you think Bowler is a one trick pony then what does that make your beloved CJ?

You really aren't bright if you think that calling someone shite is the same as saying someone has a fault with the way he plays and yes CJ is also a one trick pony and if he doesn't get the chance to use his pace then he would be no asset to the team.
