Signings you want.

I agree, shame as there looked to be a player in there from Crawley highlights. Better than CJ anyway!
Really, a player??? Was awful when he played for us in lge 1 and did absolutely nothing in a spell with Northampton in lge 2. CJ, while not consistent, has played a number of championship games and just got called up for his country. If we want to progress we need far far better than Bez, same said for some of the names mentioned on this thread... Yesterday's news and Lincoln players... We need better

We also need better than CJ imo, if he didn’t have pace he’d be working on a building site. Done very well for himself.

As I said, looked decent from highlights at Crawley, but it’s a shame what’s happened to him since, not really going to judge him from his time here or Northampton given obvious off the field issues.

One of the most mobile big target man I've seen in the last couple of seasons was Joe Pigott playing against us for Wimbledon. We couldn't handle the guy and I'm surprised he had a relatively poor season after signing for Ipswich. A change may do him good and could resurrect his form. He wouldn't cost the earth at all and could be worth a punt.
Certainly not up to Championship standard!

Oh fantastic. Another Lincoln reference.

League One players = a League One side. Raise your ambitions!
What exactly do you expect ? We have one of the lowest budgets in the division (even if Sadler doubled it overnight) and it’ll still be smaller than some in League 1 - that’s just reality. We’re not gonna go and outspend any other Chanpionship clubs in a transfer war and we’re not going to offer head turning sums of money either. We’ll sign young players with good attributes that will be well known to our staff, coaches, scouts and analysts and we’ll try develop them so they ultimately become one the seasoned Championship quality player you seemingly think we’ll pick up for £300k and £4K per week…

Quite fancied Kasey Palmer at Bristol City - came on and ran the game against us first game of the season. He's been massively out of favour there and thought we might have been able to tempt him back up north. Sadly seen he's just signed for Coventry.

Another one I'd like is Taylor Harwood-Bellis who was on loan at Stoke from Man City last season. Thought he was excellent against us, and kind of hoped that he might know Grimmy who might tell him how ace it is here. Seems though he's been linked with a move to Burnleh.

Cauley Woodrow would have been perfect for us, signed for Luton today.

I know we’re stacked with strikers just not sure how well they’re gonna do next year. But in reality we need a more balanced midfield.

Rather than us pay fees for lower league players who generally aren’t up to it, I’d far sooner we take loan players from the Premier League and Championship. They’ve generally served us better than the Lubalas, Hamilton etc etc

We have to be the club that finds the best in leagues 1 and 2 and makes them better. We won't be buying championship players from championship clubs and the ones that are released are usually late 20s or 30+ with limited sell on value and high wages if you fall into the trap.
Jordan Gabriel is a rare exception but predominantly we will be signing young lads released by prem clubs and lower league on the up, and that one is a very competitive market!

Very hot take, but we don't need to sign any more strikers; Yates, Beesley, Lavery, and Madine are all good enough to succeed at this level.

Would rather us focus our resources towards bringing in players who can improve the service that those strikers get instead of just getting in new strikers.

Lewis Fiorini in CM would be brilliant.
3 of them probably are, Madine doesn't offer enough, if we could move him on and bring in a Simms type player with physical presence, pace and finishing ability I'd be happy.

We’ll obviously do that as well but you can’t build a squad and loan players. You need some sort of stability and consistency and the chance to build.

I agree we need a different type of striker, Cauley Woodrow would have been a good fit for us. Morris at Barnsley
has good feet & holds the ball well maybe this type of player who links up with the midfield is what we need.

Kasey Palmer was on £22,000 per week at Bristol City and they were only too pleased that he has gone to Coventry City and they did not demand a transfer fee.

I would think our recruitment will be determined by who we sell and how much for. If we raise a million, it limits the quality we can bring in, if it’s five million, it’s a different story, so I imagine the club is waiting.

Players who out perform at league one will be championship standard. We can’t afford championship standard wages/or won’t pay it. Enter the loan market, which I hope is utilised a lot better this season.

Can we please sign someone, not an 18 year old for the development squad, someone to get the adrenaline going. Please.

The good ones tend to come with substantial fees and wages attached, the rest are pot-luck, for every Sterling you're going to get a John-Jules, some will work out, some won't.

If we can establish a reputation as a good place for academy players to go, that might help our cause, and I'm sure the club are trying to do that, but as it is the likes of Archer (PNE); Zinckernagel; Garner; Lowe; Spence (Forest) are likely to remain out of our reach for a long time.
