Signings

Was having a discussion with my old man last night about signings this season and how its shaping up to be an exciting summer...

We ended up thinking up players who we'd like to sign from other L1 clubs, just curious to see what others thought about this. So if you could sign 4 players (GK, defender, midfielder, striker) from other L1 clubs who would you like us to get?

Not sure the budget, but I think Jason Cummings from Shrewsbury would suit the football it seems like we're going to be playing.

I'd take Josh Vickers (recently released by Lincoln City due to budget cuts and not being able to offer a new contract) as GK, Shaun Williams from Shrewsbury in defence (young and had a good first season playing league football regularly), Ellis Chapman from Lincoln in midfield - young and very very highly rated - out of contract too albeit offered a new deal- and up front... no idea.

Morgan Ferrier from Tranmere. Heneghan didn't cope with him at all.

Having seen both games, I think it said more about the inability of Heneghan to cope with real pace. Facing attackers he is quite good, unfortunately he has the turning speed of the QE2.

Funny how different people see different things, I thought he was bang average at best and didn't understand the furore!

Personally I think we’re fine in the GK position, so I’ll use that slot for another midfielder.

Trying to be realistic I’d:

• Sign Henegan (CB)
• Sign Callum Camps (CM)
• Sign Herbie Kane (CM)
• Sign either Cummings or Yates (ST)

then sprinkle a few loans in too

You're havin a laugh. Wiz is right. Morgan Ferrier ripped our defence apart. Was possibly the best visiting player at Bloomfield last season.

Toney was our star man when Athers managed to take Blackpool into Europe ....If memory serves me right . Need him to confirm that though, as I have too many senior moments and my memory is sometimes like a sieve.

Sandler has a lot of infrastructure commitments, as we know, so I think he expects Critchley to be canny on a somewhat restricted budget. That would suit me fine. It's when we get to the Championship that I I expect the purse-strings to loosen.

Ferries tipped our defence apart yes, but he didn’t rip many other defences apart. He only scored 5 goals last season, 2 against us. As has already been stated that says more about our defence than his ability.
