Silverstone F1

Yep, some absolute bell ends. And for those that idolise Alonso as the best driver of the current crop, here is his take on the incident:
And Fernando Alonso, a two-time world champion, who has passed people around the outside of Copse a number of times in his career - including in the sprint race on Saturday - said: "Lewis had more than half a car alongside Max, so in a way Lewis could not disappear from that inside line. You can't vanish. So it was an unfortunate moment but nothing intentional and nothing that any of the two drivers did wrong."

I’d take Alonso’s opinion over any steward’s verdict.
Please note Horner that Alonso also ‘Stuck a wheel up the inside’ at Copse too, several times, to add to the list of great drivers that have done it, despite you saying no one does that, you big whinging cry baby.

And it's not as if Alonso and Hamilton are best buddies, I would also imagine that the rest of the grid are pleased that someone stuck to their guns in the face of Verstappen's aggressive self entitled style.

This is Hamilton's 16th year in F1 and he's never been called a dirty driver before, he's the most respected driver on the grid, it's just Red Bull being Red Bull and secretly Lewis will be loving how wound up they are.

The more it develops the more it just seems like Verstappen can't live with getting owned by Hamilton, as the kids say.

And here's Mansell describing the exact same move on the same track we saw yesterday, Piquet didn't whinge afterwards even though they despised each other.

"I knew, because Nelson was no mug, that I would have one chance to get past him. I had to do the dummy, and I had to be on the inside, because I knew he would come straight over. He came over and we touched going into Stowe, but he knew he was on the outside so he was going to come out far worse than me."

This has gone down in folklore as one of the great overtakes, no complaining, no crying about it afterwards, just racing. Mansell wasn't anywhere near the apex either, he was too busy blocking Piquet.

Verstappen sounds like a spoiled child and I've lost all respect for him.
You can add Christian Horner to that spoiled child. Very cringeworthy.

They have a competitive car, 2nd in that race is better than DNF and true champions know you can't win every race.

Horner's always been like that, just Marko's mouthpiece. A class act all round, leaving his wife and their six month old daughter for Geri Halliwell.

Yep - I can’t think of a time when Lewis has been dirty. Can think when others have with him though, Vettel driving into him a few times out of sheer frustration springs to mind.
When Hamilton was coming through as a youngster, he was aggressive but also respectful of other cars. Max thinks he has a divine right to be all over the track and other cars have to back down. He’s learning the hard way that you don’t become a World Champion like that. Unlucky son.

Only in England do you get bell ends like Jaffa and Mac. Can never work out if they just want a reaction as they are bored, or they just prefer when there's something to moan about, over having a British sensation.

Agreed - I think there’ll be a few more incidents before the end, next few seasons will be good too if Redbull stay competitive with Mercedes along with Hamilton staying around another couple of years. Just the start with now between Hamilton and Verstappen 👍😎
I can see Red Bull getting better next season with the new cars, engines aren't changing.

Horner has never really bothered me either way before but yesterday he really showed himself up…..I know he is there to defend his team and drivers but what a moaning whingbag he was yesterday….passions run high but he didn’t do himself any favours….Mad Max should shut up too and knuckle down for the fight…..
Mercedes and Lewis will just get on with it as professionally as always…..bring on the rest of the season.

I think RB know that Lewis generally gets better in the second half of a season and are scared that they haven't maximised the points haul they should have done so far in a car which has disproportionately benefitted from the rule changes.

In the back of their minds will be when Vettel drove off into the barriers in Germany, his championship to lose and his head went.

For the first time this season, Lewis simply didn't yield after being bumped 3 times in previous races by Max; he's now set up camp inside Max's head - the question is - how does he respond?

He's had a short fuse in the past, he's made some daft decisions in the past; can he be mature enough for the rest of the season not to let it bother him - time will tell.

Christian Horner needs to give his head a wobble and reflect about his cry baby antics which were the worst I've seen for a long time.

They should just put Horner and Wolff in a room together, only one is allowed to leave, good luck with that Christian.

It's still Verstappen cutting across the line no matter how many times you watch it.

Dead Right LFY8.
Every time I watched it, Verstappen was the one at fault.

Dads Army, 'They don't like it up em'. 😉

I think Lewis has done a great job of getting inside Max's head. I remember when max first started at the highest level, he was forever in trouble for his antics. Now he has got a fast car, he thinks he can do the same and get away with it. Trouble is, he is up against a real champion who he has just discovered will not be bullied indefinitely.

I too read the other drivers comments, take them over the stewards who wanted to placate RB anytime

I've listened to a couple of review podcasts while doing some work this afternoon (The Race and BBC Chequered Flag) and not one single person, ex drivers and journalists, on these think Hamilton was driving dangerously, everyone agreed both drivers were just being aggressive.

It appears that the only people who actually think it was dangerous driving are those tied to Red Bull and a few 'casual' observers on the internet.

Yep the same casual observers are the same types that probably signed a petition for the Euro final to be replayed, after they’d watched 3 games of football that tournament, clueless bell ends.

Just back from an amazing weekend . Some top quality racing , great qualifying and one of best races seen at Silverstone for many a year.
Most of the race fans we were talking to ,not all Hamilton fans were of the same opinion. Racing incident, it happens.Whatever it topped off a great weekend for us
Lucky git 😃

And the race stewards who you forgot to mention.

The ones that count at the end of the day.

Martin Brundel summed it up for me in commentatory when he stated that Lewis had been given the second most lenient punishment for the incident and it could have been more severe(which he didn’t think it was).

So the race stewards either bottled it,thought it was nothing major or didn't have a clue but thought they'd better do something.

I'm not sure anyone in the sport has much time for them.

Red Bull gives you whinge.
