Simms chose Sunderland over us

It’s disappointing but come on……we’re “Poolsters”…..we’ll get over it.
I had no idea we made a “Big Push” to sign him…….can’t knock the board they are “trying” and the targets are good.

No point trying to buy crap!!!!!

Don't see a striker as a priority signing unless we're shifting players.

Rather spend the money on a midfielder or a LW.
Agreed, although I think Appleton sees things differently. We absolutely had to throw our hat in the ring for Simms though, just gutted we couldn't land him, it really would have been a huge lift.

Let's face it, you'd always want to go to Sunderland over us. Even though he'll have enjoyed his time here. Sunderland building a good squad.

Sunderland only have one CF at the moment, that's likely to have been a factor in his decision, it'll be interesting to see how well he does for them.

I don’t blame him for going to Sunderland, different challenge, massive club. He’ll get the same dough being on loan but there’s more potential in the long run, you never know who’s in his ear at Everton too.

I think its encouraging that we went for him and matched the wages. I do think we need a striker suited to 433, and someone better than we already have ideally, and it seems the club is prepared to push the boat out a bit to get it. We need more potency and better movement.

He's not the only decent striker out there, so plenty more fish in the sea.

Just don't think it's a priority signing if we're creating more chances.
Once Fiorini and Carey get going, we could be sharing the goals across the squad instead of relying on a single striker.

I don’t believe this for one minute. He has an affinity with our club and fans and nothing is official.
He has two offers on the table and will choose Blackpool over a newly promoted side, who play for a negative manager.

Keep positive

At this rate we'll have to adopt Jilted John as the club song. Not to worry, my Heart will go on 😗 🛳️
