Simon beware this window

I know people might start to panic with the two games this week, but I'd appeal to Simon Saddler not to panic and waste more of his money in January. Last Jan we did some shocking business, it really isn't the time to be trying to rebuild the squad. We aren't far away with what we've got, just young and will take time. We knew this season would be about development and patience.

Show patience, let the summer signings find their way and maybe add the odd loan. Do any rebuilding in the summer.

Last thing we want is another window disaster and our owner getting fed up!

Yep there are sensible people at the helm now. I’m sure there will be no panic moves. It would be nice to get a nice prem striker on loan - that kid united just stole from city looks to know where the goals are!

What I want to know is who advised him to spend a fortune on Nuttall ? That was shocking recruitment!

I agree we can't keep going crazy every transfer window, hauling off and bringing in double figures.

Often one player can make a huge impact, look at how much bringing in Dougall improved the midfield and pairing Ekpiteta with either Gretarson/Ballard improved the defence. A couple of additions here and there should improve us vastly, we definitely don't need to bring a boat load in!

One ortwo new faces and a couple of QUALITY loan players...ship out Howe, Thorniley, Sarkic and Antwi on loan along with anyone else the boss doesnt fancy. If we can sell or swap Hardie, Nuttall or Kai Kai then I would....

I don't get this 'young' bit. The vast majority are between 25 and 30.

Agree, we need to offload a couple if we can and ideally bring in a Fox in the box and a creative midfielder who can actually cross a ball.

We were there abouts just before Christmas last year and it looks like SS gave the go ahead for a push for it with all those incomings. I do believe Mr Sadler wants promotion sooner rather than later and may feel that we have the nucleus and a couple of quality additions could see us at least in the playoffs as we've already shown we can beat all above us.

We have beaten Peterborough, Portsmouth and Hull above us, hardly all.

I meant the best of all above us and we should have beaten Lincoln even when we were playing crap and if you read it properly I said we've shown we can beat all above us.

Yep, great o/p. Have to say I'm disappointed with the consistency in performances and that's why we are not higher in the table than we should or could be. Think there's major problems in the squad in certain areas. That said, I don't think the January transfer window is the time to try and fully fix them.
I make no bones about it, I'd have hoped we'd be in a much better position than we are. I also think there's a number of signings that Critchley has made that haven't turned out to be as good as he hoped. But the end of the season is the time for Critchley to try and get it right. Of course he's still learning but I certainly expect better consistency in performances next season.

There was definitely some nepotism there.

Grayson and Dunn pals, Dunn is Nuttall's agent. We sign Nuttall in the summer then Grayson makes Dunn his assistant manager..
He hit the roof when he found about about the details of that one.

Realised he needed to put a rocket up a few people to stop it happening again, a transfer committee was created.

Not entirely sure it’s worked out as he’d planned.

Come the summer there could be at least one person who’s seat is feeling very very hot, and it won’t be in the dugout.

Pedant mode on, we have shown we can beat teams above us yes. We haven’t beaten all above us, I did read it properly and you said we have shown we can beat all above us. We haven’t and we can’t. Also what is more to the point is we struggle to beat teams below us, which, if we want to progress, I would argue are more important than the one above. If you don’t beat teams below you are only going in one direction.

Many of his summer signings have failed to make an impression. A good number of them were given 2 year contracts so we could be stuck with them. I'd wait to see how Critchley does between now and the end of the season or he could waste more money.

Mansford & Johnson spring to mind!
