Simon Sadler and China

Didn't know whether this should be on the football or politics section, so apologies to some.

China now seems to be ignoring the 1997 agreement with the UK over Hong Kong, and is moving quickly to assimilate the former colony into the PRC as soon as possible.
They've said that any resistance will be dealt with swiftly, and be subject to charges of sedition and treason.!

The USA are today talking about removing Hong Kongs special trading status if the PRC goes ahead with this.

I think Sadler needs to change his base quickly, maybe to Singapore. Otherwise it's going to cost him a lot.

He's been a breath of fresh air for Blackpool, but his attention may have to be on other things for a while, and this could affect BFCs finances as well

I was wondering if Sadler will be affected by what is happening with Hong Kong. Quite telling that he is subsidizing the furloughed staff's wages to keep them on full pay whilst I imagine he is under some stress with the political climate of where he conducts his business.

My guess is he knows what he's doing, and we need not worry!

We've got Simon Sadler and he knows what he's after

Sadly Hong Kong has been preparing for this day for years, and as stated above I am sure that Sadler has plans in place, as have many other companies.
I used to spend a fair bit of time in HK and watched the local paper (South China Morning Post) raise more and more concerns, and then suddenly as reporters "left" and were replaced the paper started to become more pro Bejing, and many hard working HK Chinese started to get increasingly concerned. I left just before the first major protests started and feel very sorry for a decent hard working family orientated nation who have not yet realised that they are pretty much on their own and will have no chance against the huge machine that is communist China.

Posted on an earlier thread ... I’m sure Simon will have plans in place, especially given that many of his clients are US institutions ... the nature of his business is that he can be on a plane elsewhere very quickly, likely Singapore

An awful lot of financial institutions relocated to Singapore in 97 and just left there offices still open in HK with a skeleton staff operating.
The actions of the PRC cat be a surprise to anyone?

Interesting to note that the Chinese vote was carried something like 280 to 1.
I wonder who had the guts to vote against?
Maybe it was condoned by the top table just to show the world how democratic the CPR is. 😉

Or, engineered by the top table for the same reason.

Why do people or nations have any business connections to China, nobody needs them in the long run. It is a disgusting nation. Their own people are treated awfully by them and if they are not releasing deadly viruses to kill people and destroy world economies they are trying to assimilate other nations into their rule. Time to break all ties with them.
