So, biggest fear

What are your 3 biggest fears ?

I’ll start with :-

Anything bad happening to my kids or granddaughter, or them being distressed in any way.

Having another nervous breakdown.

Disappearing into a sink-hole overnight, when sleeping.

See, non of them football related 😃

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Don't give a shit what John says, I've got a fear of anything to do with my eyes.
Even going to the optician, born out of watching a horror film when a lot younger and this bloke ended up getting two spikes driven into his eyes🤢🤮

Share you fears of something bad happing to family... keeps me awake a lot.

Your second fear is solvable... just keep off AVFTT 😁

As for number three...you’re on your own with that...😂

For me ... already mentioned number one fear.

Number 2 ... if I die suddenly my family lose our home and business... joy of being a tenant.

Number 3... financial ruin... same result as 2.

That was a flippant answer.

Fortunately I don't fear anything now. When I was younger I had lots of fears, but as the years have advanced these have disappeared.

Must be an age thing.
The only thing to fear is fear itself. Cliche but possibly true.

As usual, you come up with a thought provoking post.

You're good for this board!

Lifts, seriously, they're unnatural metal tombs of impending death.

We`re house hunting at the moment, and next week we are going to view a property with a lift. How f****** weird is that!

Irrational fears include losing front teeth in an accident and fear of a broken nose. Not squeamish and have broken a lot of bones, but I still hate to see facial injuries. Bit odd I know.

Also I have become a tad claustrophobic as I`ve grown older. Why? No idea. But it does set off a little bit of anxiety in me occasionally.

Apart from that I`m a tough guy!😒

Good thread....:)

I’m totally claustrophobic, I sleep with my bedroom window open all seasons and temperatures so I feel I have an escape.

Good luck with the house hunting 👍 I used to dream about having a house with a lift, even though they terrify me.

Probably a wheelchair user, seen it before, you might survive a drop in to the kitchen from the landing.

I've broken my nose, not too bad really, ribs are much worse.

I've always got to have a window open, house or car, drives Mrs Lytham mad.

I'm struggling to think of anything in particular, which if I had specific fears they would be there instantly. That's not to say I don't have respect for things & circumstances which could be disastrous. Only thing that gives me the willy's is the thought of being stuck probably under water & slowly suffocating.

Waking up to find a Preston season ticket in my wallet and supporting Blackpool was all a dream.

Underwater would be one of the better deaths...not painful at least. I think burning would be pretty nasty.

But how about this for a haunting way to go.

Prison - no reason that I know of to fear this, but then I probably wouldn’t know!
For the first time ever a few days ago I had a dream about Police/Courts/Being locked up.
Can’t remember what I had done, but I was totally out of my depth. So relieved to wake up and realise it was all unreal 😮‍💨.

Dementia - really don’t fancy this! Not frightened of dying, I imagine ultimately it will be just like falling asleep when you are really tired, but I am a bit worried about how I get to that point.

Death/Illness/Suffering of my loved ones. Nothing much happened on this front for a few years so I guess I might be due.
I have had quite a bit of this around me in my life, and I suppose I like to think that might help protect me a bit, but it probably wouldn’t.

Being in a mortuary drawer and still being alive is a terrorising fear for me too.
That's a bit scary, but you'd probably be able to attract attention relatively quickly, and in any event that's extremely unlikely, so there are probably worse things that could happen.

When I was poorly I had this thought that I was going to end up in prison or becoming a glue sniffer !!! Totally irrational, but both scared the sh*t out of me 😆 so I get that !

I could not ever handle prison, the trapped ness.
That‘s why I’m forever a good girl ☺️

I worry about my daughters bringing home a wrong un as their new boyfriend
I have an irrational fear of people not acknowledging me if I’ve waited for them in traffic to pass me ( really boils my piss)
Terrified of not being able to access my bet 365 accounts whilst on holiday…!

Not a fan of lifts having once got caught up in one that fell short of the floor it was supposed to arrive at but it was quickly sorted.
However I used to work for an insurance intermediary ( on the accounting side) who specialised in Professional Indemnity Insurance and our claims manager who knew a thing about accident claims including involving Lifts would never ever use one🤔…this was a man who went on a rugby club trip to Canada whose room was on the 13th floor and refuse to take the lift.🫣
Me ..don’t like them but no way these days would I walk up that high😂..by the way I hate escalators too…having seen someone flipped upside down on a very short one at the airport in Rome when his luggage fell backwards and caused him to…..🫣🫣🫣

Driving at night, as I have got older I have found it harder and harder to see properly with all the super bright led lights cars have now and worse in the rain.

I`d forgotten about cars! Going fast with someone else driving never bothered me at all when I was younger. It does now.

Stayed with my childhood best pal in Cornwall recently and we set off for Mousehole which was about 15 minutes away, early one morning, and he was driving down windy lanes in a sports car doing 60-70 mph. Hated it, felt we could have an accident at any time.

Had to grin and bear it though because I`m a bloke and we don`t like to show weakness...

The first one is easy, been there, just tell them ‘ get the F*ck out of my daughters life.’ It can take a while for the penny to drop, but it does 👌

Used to be heights but for some reason I am not bothered by them at all any more.

Funny, took my daughter to the airport today, Prague 👌 we discussed people who won’t drive on motorways or at night. Can’t say either bother me to be honest. Maybe that time will come 😳

Those led lights are a complete menace when they come into your eyeline and not even sure they are effective for those behind the wheel.
Lala wether it is an age thing or not I now find driving at night less enjoyable ( if driving ever were🤔)

Lovely place, hope she has a good time, that said I ended up staying next to the biggest knocking-shop in the city, so hopefully not that good a time (I didn't visit).

It comes down to confidence, once you lose it, you lose it, and if you do, it's a very long way back.
