I'm afraid it can be sustained into the twenty-second century if they want to.How many days..months...years before it all goes pair shaped....The money they are paying is crazy...how long can it be sustainable ?
Until the oil runs out.How many days..months...years before it all goes pair shaped....The money they are paying is crazy...how long can it be sustainable ?
Sadly true. They will keep upping the stakes until every major sport has a highly moneyed presence there. Nobody is going to want to watch the football but players and of course their agents will continue to fill their boots. Golf had a chance to head them off but it looks like they've blown it.Long after we’re all dead.
How much for some new icebergs and an ozone layer ?They have more money than they could ever spend. Making billions every week. They can purchase anything they want to.
They’ll plant a tree somewhere to salve their conscience. Even seeing what’s going on at the moment, with the earth burning, won’t alter their choices. How much for some new icebergs and an ozone layer ?

Indeed. And Japan before them, and the NASL back in the Pele/Beckenbauer days.Looks like the new version of the China league. The Chinese introduced a limit to foreign players eventually which halted the exodus of players. I doubt Saudi will do the same. What I fail to understand is surely high profile players coming to the end of their career have surely enough money for life and then some.
It's time for us all to get active and join Just Stop Oil.The oil billionaires and the plutocrats are the enemy of humanity.
Throwing of items onto playing surface. Public hand removal. At least the fans will be well behaved
I was thinking the same. All the best players were allegedly going to China, but what happened in reality was that players looking for a final payday went.Looks like the new version of the China league. Be fine, people said the same thing about the Premier league and when Chelsea went all mental buying all the best players in EuropeHow many days..months...years before it all goes pair shaped....The money they are paying is crazy...how long can it be sustainable ?
Funnily enough I was wondering yesterday when the Saudi's would try to muscle in on the CL. It's sure to happen.I was thinking the same. All the best players were allegedly going to China, but what happened in reality was that players looking for a final payday went.
Think this will be the same. A Saudi League title doesn't really have the same cachet as a European Cup.
according to x-pro ( ex players charity ) 3 out of 5 ex premier league players go bankrupt after retiring. Brilliant documentary on ESPN about American sports and how 80 % of ex players go bankrupt there called "Broke"Looks like the new version of the China league. The Chinese introduced a limit to foreign players eventually which halted the exodus of players. I doubt Saudi will do the same. If there's money in it then UEFA will want some. Not sure they can muscle in on the champions league. There would be much uproar I would have thought.
That's the Saudi's biggest issue me thinks.
I am sure a lot of the world's top players will want to continue playing in the champions league and that is something they can't offer.
Well nothing would surprise me with them tw4t$ involved. If there's money in it then UEFA will want some.
Even FIFA too.
Irony is they are in pole position for massive solar power production, exported or used to produce hydrogen.Until the oil runs out.
Israel isn't in Europe yet compete in European competitionsThe Champions League is a European competition run by UEFA. Saudi is not in Europe and never can be, FIFA would never agree to the country coming under UEFA rather than their current governing body, and if UEFA proposed it the breakaway of the top European clubs would become a reality as they would no longer be the top dogs financially - unless they'd already sold out to the Arabs of course (hawaay the lads?)
I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they do try and muscle in on the CL. And then only a matter of time before UEFA accept their blood money and allow them in.Not sure they can muscle in on the champions league. There would be much uproar I would have thought.

It comes under the banner of UEFA, Saudi Arabia does not. Those crusades were not fought totally in vain.Israel isn't in Europe yet compete in European competitions
Because most of Asia won't play them.Israel isn't in Europe yet compete in European competitions
So what?Because most of Asia won't play them.
Eh Israel wasn't a country during the crusadesIt comes under the banner of UEFA, Saudi Arabia does not. Those crusades were not fought totally in vain.
So they can't be in the Asian confederation, obviously. So what?
They can have it . I couldn't care less.Funnily enough I was wondering yesterday when the Saudi's would try to muscle in on the CL. It's sure to happen.
Air conditioned stadiums - creating more global warming! With temperatures rising faster in Saudi than most of the globe the country could become uninhabitable before 2100. Not ideal conditions for football.
Anything can happen in footballSo they can't be in the Asian confederation, obviously.
It's already happened.Funnily enough I was wondering yesterday when the Saudi's would try to muscle in on the CL. It's sure to happen.
You would just fly and out surelyMoney maybe nice but the weather is hot, there is nothing to do and you have to mind your manners.
But remember the old adage: 'There's no such thing as having too much money ...'Looks like the new version of the China league. The Chinese introduced a limit to foreign players eventually which halted the exodus of players. I doubt Saudi will do the same. What I fail to understand is surely high profile players coming to the end of their career have surely enough money for life and then some.
Bit of a distance to keep flying back to England. You would just fly and out surely
Just shows how addictive money is they just cannot get enough after so many millions. Some of the greatest players that will has ever seen selling themselves like prostitutes on the street corner to the highest bidder. Saudi Arabia. Here was an opportunity for them to stand up and be counted as humans, decent people with scruples not just footballers. They blew it, cheap skates.Looks like the new version of the China league. The Chinese introduced a limit to foreign players eventually which halted the exodus of players. I doubt Saudi will do the same.
