I wonder if Yard Act will have enough material for a gig? Like their stuff so far, but they're not from round here.

I remember seeing Culture Club just after they went to No 1 with 'Do You....' and they played for 40 mins (the album), 2 follow up repeats from the set. Got slagged for saying good night, came back and played the first 40 mins again. No encore.

I reckon it'll be a short set with plenty of banter in between tracks :)

Thought about going to see Dry Cleaning myself Dave. I was hoping they would play Cambridge but they missed us.
Flaming Lips are absolutely ace live, gutted they aren't playing here this time.
Damned is the original line up so that will be great too.
Van Der Graff Generator!!!! 'kin hell Dave, that's a blast from the past!! 🤣 🤣

How's the garden going??

Dry Cleaning are the only band to see..they are so good! ( though gig wait is March 2022 !!! ) Glad you liked Flaming Lips, what a show eh ? Van der graff were stunning a few years ago..considering Hammill has had a heart attack, he walked around the band in a circle and sang his heart out for the entire show..v powerful stuff in there...and of course the Damned with all original members ..should take me back to 1976 when I saw em :).. garden's come up great again..and taller !

Saw them about 3 years ago and they were brilliant, had to go again. If you can get tickets then you must.
It was actually at the opera house GB and I enjoyed CC far more than the Police.
Considering I was a massive fan, I was really let down at that gig🤷‍♂️
Ah yes- the memory isn’t the best, g

ah yes - the memory isn’t the best, I thought the police were brilliant to be honest although they were first big band I’d seen live so that went a long way to sway me slightly I suppose , I remember Andy summer’s mentioning he’d lived in poulton at some point, although as I got the venue wrong you’ve got me wondering now!

No you're right re Andy Summers. 😁👍🏻
As pleased as you were with the gig with it being your 1st I think I'd built it up in my mind it was going to be awesome as I loved the police at the time and it didn't quite get upto expectations.
I can say the same about the Cure too but they're the only two I've been really let down over.
At the end of the day you cant beat live music, cant wait to get back 👍🏻

Exactly- one positive that’s come out of all this pandemic is how much we will appreciate going back to gigs/ football and the rest, can’t say I’ve felt massively let down in my expectations at a gig but slightly with Bowie at Maine rd on the glass spider tour, only because he didn’t play a lot of his really early stuff, I’ll never forget him being lowered down in that massive glass spider so theatricaly brilliant, Paul weller at the emperess ballroom ( I think!) seemed like he couldn’t really be arsed & didn’t do an encour ( spelt wrong I’m sure)
Must have seen Alabama3 40 or so times over the past 20 years & when the smoking ban came in they took a while to adjust to not having joints thrown onto the stage- which rob spragg the lead singer just smoked unbeknown to what he was actually smoking- it seemed to enhance his performance if that was possible, then he lifted his shades up at the end of the gig and his eyes looked like golf balls
Never been let down by shawaddywaddy though
