Any early hamstring injuries yet?
Get a life!We should be beating teams like this by 6 ffs
I thought Gabriel.was out for months?3 at the back works a treat when done correctly, it was just unfortunate that the two managers who tried it last year were Mick McCarthy and Michael Appleton.
We tried 3-4-3 with two wingers and two center midfielders last season and it was a disaster because the midfield got run over, but if we tried a 3-5-2 (or a 3-4-1-2 in possession) it could work really well as we'd win more midfield battles, allow a strike partnership up top to flourish, while also being solid at the back.
The biggest requirement is to have two wingbacks that are quality (since they are the ones who will need to do the most running) which we do in Andy Lyons and Jordan Gabriel.
Think he's back running on grass so should be back before the start of the season.I thought Gabriel.was out for months?
I don’t think he gets humorous sarcasm.
I'm autistic so yeah that is something I struggle withI don’t think he gets humorous sarcasm.
Going to be a great player for us. Really don’t understand why some of our fans can’t see it.Thompson has turned into roberto Carlos
You don’t watch us anyway so you’ll be reetI remember last season where we tried 3 defenders and it was piss poor to watch. Would be the same this season. Hopefully we won’t.
How do you know he wasn't?That’s Yates gone. No reason he wouldn’t be playing unless injured.
Get a better view than you on the telly. You don’t watch us anyway so you’ll be reet
Luckily you didn't get a season ticket so will be spared the boredom.I’m on about the season ahead.
What about lavery then? That’s Yates gone. No reason he wouldn’t be playing unless injured.
There was a mad little scrap at half time between 2 of our ownWhat about the snot-nosed Southport firm though?
Match Day tickets. Cool people get them.Luckily you didn't get a season ticket so will be spared the boredom.
Who knows.What about lavery then?
You pay too much attention to Phil.Match Day tickets. Cool people get them.
Shayne is understandable as he’s a week behind everyone else I’d imagine having been on international duty. Jerry, I’m convinced is off. He’s still contracted to the club so of course he’s there, but if he’s leaving why would Critch bother playing him in pre-season?Just to put the record straight, Jerry and Shayne were there , sat on the bench in Club Tracksuits !
Great to hear him again talking after a match. There is a real sense of us having a plan and looking to the future which I think we have missed since his disastrous departure. I for one am delighted to have him back.Just listened to Critch’s post match interview, wasn’t that impressed with us first half, playing too deep, passing back yet scored 3 goals, said second half much better yet we didn’t score. He really rates Norburn and said there’s no better midfielder in league 1.
Seemed overall satisfied but still plenty to do before the start of the season. Sounds like he has a plan firmly in mind like he did last time.
Totally agree. I am sure Critch and his team know what they are looking for. No doubt the loan market will become useful as it has in the past. Maybe risk a lower league or matured playerFeels like we’ve now got that central defensive spine sorted. We’ve strong centre half’s (Penn, Marv, Tharme, Casey) ahead of Grimmy.
Then we have strong Def midfielders (Norburn, Tryball, Dougall, Connolly) already in place.
We now need a big Gaz replacement for plan B (or A if it works?) to compliment Shayne and Beesley. A couple of new flair players to add to the group as we don’t know yet if what we have are good enough.
Then when Jerry goes (more likely than not) a replacement striker for him with the cash recouped.
I think Jerry will stay unless we get a very good offer. We have no need to sell and he will rip up L1 and could be vital in a promotion push, and financially a promotion would massively outweigh a one off transfer feeFeels like we’ve now got that central defensive spine sorted. Do you remember the days when streaming didn’t exist ??? Why are we wanting to encourage people not to attend live matches ???? If you can’t go to friendlies you can enjoy the highlights afterwardsso, our caring, sharing football club has no stream available. Well done everyone.
It was an instant reaction. I'd made my dinner, sat down with my laptop in front of me and searched on YouTube - nothing. So, when I went on the AVFTT match thread to find that there was no stream, I was miffed.Do you remember the days when streaming didn’t exist ??? That's basically Critchball!

Given their apparent 'fighting pedigree', I wonder if any of these young 'uns are actually trained boxers, and, if so, it rather begs the question: I wonder if there are any southpaws amongst them...The Southport U14 Hooligans scare me,Haig Ave is an intimidating place, count me out.
After the best part of a season of putting out cones and making brews for Stevie G, he might have had an epiphanyHe’s evolved, much like his opinion of Stevie G
