Squad rotation

With a game on Wednesday before a trip to The Gas, I reckons there will be changes. Critch has Carey, Marvin, Lavery, Lyons, Gabriel, 0’Donnell, Pennington, Dale, Virtue, Oakley-Booth and Dougall as potential starters. That’s an entire team. I wonder which game he regards as the most important ? I also wonder which game the Fans think is the most important ?

I think we will and should go strong for both. Most players just had a week off anyway and if I was a player id be pretty pissed off if I didn't play the fa cup at home against a prem side on TV so I could showcase myself. I would say though that I think Gabriel will and should start on the right with Coulson or Lyons on the left.

I think Coulson is cup tied, so should be a game for Lyons or Dale at LWB. Think Gabriel and Pennington may come in for Connolly and CJ. Maybe Marv as well.

Critch is no different to any other manager and will know he has the chance of making some back page headlines on Thursday morning and increasing his kudos. He'll go full strength.

TV money talks I know but we should have stood our ground & said we wanted to play on Tuesday instead of Wednesday v Forest.
Assume players be given Thursday off post match & Friday will be travelling day.

I am looking forward to the response.
Minutes on the pitch to trigger x, y or z in their contracts, possibly a loyalty bonus?

I can't remember which player it was fairly recently that was selected so triggered a new deal (option) which was not the intention. He went on loan and never played for us again.

They're under contract to play when selected surely. No reason to think contracts have changed.

But contract t's & c's MIGHT say that some players either get an automatic extension, an increase or an additional fee paid to the club we bought them from. Could be worded to reflect league appearances rather than all games.

Of course. It MIGHT also be up to the coach and staff deciding what rest time certain players need to avoid additional injuries. We'll never know.

Both have played plenty of games to trigger any automatic extensions, and I'm sure any payments due to Orient or Barnsley have been made by now.

I'd imagine the club is contractually obliged to comply with TV company demands.

No payments are due to their previous clubs. Dougall had his contract cancelled by Barnsley. Ekpiteta ran his contract down with Orient and was a free transfer.

I'd prefer manager rotation, when's it Dobb's turn.😆

Marv wouldn’t have been named in the squad on Saturday if that was the case
If it is contractual, any trigger is likely to be based on starts rather than coming on as sub. I, for one, find it incredible that Marv isn’t starting. I fully appreciate that he isn’t as good as the rest in terms of passing ability. However, away from home he is sorely missed. He won us the cup game at Bromley single-handedly. He is someone you want in defence when you’re up against it.

Pennington, Connolly and Husband are not fit to lace his boots. If and when he leaves, he’ll go to a club higher up the pyramid than ourselves.

That’s rubbish. Contract triggers would be based on appearances not starts

Marv isn't starting because he's leaving and won't sign a new contract, same as Kenny

I get that and I'm fine with it, pick the players who want to play for us

Aye, it's fairly clear Marv and Dougall are leaving and I'm sure both have some sort of offer from elsewhere that agents are securing - no point playing them when we're trying to get a decent first team firing and playing well together.

Squad rotation with the players that are staying is fine - we've too many games coming up to not do it.

Yeah its weird all this nonsense being spouted about appearances and the like

Its simply the fact that they both want to leave and won't sign contract offers with us
