Squad Update (Including Waghorn + Trybull) - Critchley

That's Trybull on the way then? Going to look a bit daft if there is no interest and should be pushing for the first team to show his worth for any potential interest!

Equally NC has gone public with it too. Perhaps him and his wife don’t like the area and l wonder why I’ve not seen them in the Farmers!🫢
 
At the end of the day he’s hardly done anything to generate interest yet. Perhaps he’ll get a game at Derby, but not sure he warrants it with that way of thinking
 
That’s poor from Trybull, just get your head down and play.

With a year left on his contract I wonder what someone would pay for him? He’s got undoubted quality but not played consistently for a while. Maybe someone will put £250k up for him and we’ll obviously be keen to get him off the books but if not he’ll have a part to play.

I wonder if there’s anything on Lyons in the interview.
 
Makes you wonder if Trybull and his family do their homework on the club and surrounding area before moving here. What a waste of time he's proved to be.
 
Not making the bench on Saturday was a pretty clear sign unless he had a knock. Also didnt start v Hibs.

He no doubt came to prove he can play Championship football and wants to be at that level here or on the continent.
 
If the player's not happy for whatever reason and wants to go then he isn't going to be picked. If Crith doesn't rate him and has told him he isn't going to be a starter then he isn't going to want to stay either. A bit disappointed really as he's a good player but I think this is more the decision of the player not Critch and if he doesn't want to be here, then on yer bike son!!
 
Good player but he was going to be second choice behind Norburn as CDM and probably wants to be first choice.

Talk about twisting my words to suit your agenda.
You couldn't be more wrong. I'm a big Critchley fan and was over the moon when he came back. It can't be denied though that he has history for only selecting his 'own' players.
I was merely offering a possible reason for Trybull seemingly wanting away.

I can't get the vid to play. Does NC say that Tyebull wants to leave? Or just that he wants to be kept informed (as would all players tbh) of interest?

Well it didn't come across that way to me. It was either agenda driven or a bit silly.

It's a written quote about being kept informed of interest. Which translates pretty clearly as him wanting to leave. It's a long season, we don't want anyone who doesn't want to be here. I can only imagine how it'll go down with the rest of the squad.

The impression I got is that it's a bit two way. Critch is selecting his team. Trybull isnt getting selected. Bayes asked C if Trybull has asked to be kept informed of interest and C said yes.

C was then adamant that Lyons is in the squad and will play for us this season. Two very different responses.

Bit of a strange one that with Trybull as I doubt he has many clubs in the Championship lining up for him with how much football he's played recently.

He'd have been better off playing here and attracting interest, and then when someone comes in for him going. He's secured a place on the bench by making it clear he wants to go, as what's the point of making plans with him in if he is going to leave - that might make it less likely someone will come in for him.

We're most likely going to be up there this season so surely the only move that betters his current situation is one to the Championship, he might struggle to find that all things considered.

Ahead of the game against Derby, Critchley also discussed the future of Tom Trybull, who wasn’t included in the match day squad for the 2-0 victory over Burton.
"I can only pick 11 players,” he added.
“The window is still open so I’d be surprised if our squad is as it is now at the end of it.
"If some players want to feature on a regular basis and they’re not in our squad, then that’s something we can address.
"I’m not afraid to change the team on a game by game basis.
"It’s not just about the 11 players on the pitch, it’s about the full squad.
"I’m sure over the course of the season lots of them will contribute in different ways.
"Tom and his agent will be looking at the situation, so we will see what happens and develops in the next few weeks.”

I've been critical of Critchley but it appears he's got this one right

Main thing is keeping Lyons, cannot be long before he becomes a regular even in NC‘ eyes. Now Trybull clearly not wanting to be a squad player in league 1, well sorry but you are. Wouldn’t let him go for nothing (even if it’s just a nominal fee) and only if we have a replacement lined up. If not then he stays till at least the next window and told to grow up and earn his wage. He is NOT bigger than the club, but a happy Trybull would be a huge asset.
 
I seem to remember reading German fan sites and there being some suggestions he fell out with his previous manager in Germany so maybe he's just one of those all or nothing types of characters.

Every one is eager to slam Trybull here, have we heard his side of the story?
Sounds similar to the way he treated Jordan Thornily to me, I think when Critch doesn’t fancy them he tries to force them out, I don’t blame him for that, he wants his own men but let’s not form a lynch mob yet for Trybull

Seems a bit strange as Trybull played in pre season matches 🤔
