It could be he doesn't want to be here, it could be Critchley doesn't fancy him or it could be both. If may be down to economics, Critchley may view his high wage as better used elsewhere?

Neither Connolly or CJ are natural wingbacks.
So the question should be, why not play players in their natural positions rather than picking your 'favourites '

I know I agree with yoh but at yhe end of the day Critch is much better qualified than any of us to make the call having spent the last few weeks on the training ground with him and all his adult life in professional football including top level. He will be fully aware of Lyons ability. I guess he had his reasons. We may not agree with those reasons. But he obviously knows what he's doing, I'd suggest. Yep, page 3 of the UEFA Coaching manual clearly states that thou shalt never play CJ as a RWB and Connelly as a LWB ahead of Lyons.I haven't got a UEFA license either but I can tell you that Lyons is a far better player for that system than either CJ or Connolly

Agreed. Have already written that. Although Lyons can hopefully improve in that dept. Given Hamilton is the other wing back that would also encourage Critchley to be cautious at left wing back.
He's a quality player and it says more about NC than T Trybull - you don't come from Germany to sulk and he's done everything asked in pre-season
I disagree, if you sulk after 1 game and ask to leave, especially after the team wins, it tells me he isn't a team player. Unsure how anyone can twist this into a Critchley issue.

That’s rubbish Cambers. TT started 3 games for us last season and played in the pre season friendlies and l must say l rate him highly. However, he’s got a lot to prove if a club is going to sign him when he’s got a contract here until 2024 with an option year. He’s made about 35 appearances since 2021 and has asked for his contract to be terminated by 3 clubs during that period. Very good player but sounds like he’s got issues settling with different clubs!
