Don’t worry, it’s all costed and if we need to do anything else, we’ll just say, don’t worry, it’s all costed. We’ll spend, spend, spend
There is nothing more bizarre going on in the world right now than the conspiracy theorists freakout at the possibility that urban planners think it could be good for people to be able to walk to places.Starmer,,, Hold my drink.... its going to be a total shit show. 15 minute cities,
The budget deficit was £137 billion last year. Just FYI.Don’t worry, it’s all costed and if we need to do anything else, we’ll just say, don’t worry, it’s all costed. We’ll spend, spend, spend
Peanuts for Labour, you can double that when they get in, which they will. I can’t believe we don’t have a credible party that would interest meThe budget deficit was £137 billion last year. Just FYI.
Can you point me to all the years Labour had a budget deficit equivalent to 10.8% of the GDP which you have just stated they will have going forward.Peanuts for Labour, you can double that when they get in, which they will. I can’t believe we don’t have a credible party that would interest me
Can you point me to when labour had a pandemic followed by a war in Europe, no one can compare one party or another in a particular era. It’s pretty well known that the tories favour low taxes and labour favour tax and spend. Who knows which is right, but none of it impacts the little guy, their lot is bad no matter who is in powerCan you point me to all the years Labour had a budget deficit equivalent to 10.8% of the GDP which you have just stated they will have going forward.
Excuse me, you said "you can double [last year's deficit] when they get in". Could you provide historical evidence that supports your claim that Labour double the deficit left for them by the Conservatives? Didnt the budget deficit go from a surplus to a ~6% defificit per GDP under Ted Heath in the early 70s before falling once Harold Wilson got in power? Didn't the defifict come back and begin to grow violenty in the early to mid 90s under the last years of Thatcher and John Major before starting to fall again and continuing to fall into a surplus under Tony Blair in the early 00s?Can you point me to when labour had a pandemic followed by a war in Europe, no one can compare one party or another in a particular era. We've had 13 years of that.Don’t worry, it’s all costed and if we need to do anything else, we’ll just say, don’t worry, it’s all costed. We’ll spend, spend, spend
What about a world wide banking crisis? Can you point me to when labour had a pandemic followed by a war in Europe, no one can compare one party or another in a particular era. Ben HabibLet's say this is true. I mean, I am highly sceptical because you can't even say who the 'expert' was. But let's say you are quoting correctly. Do you have any intellectual curiousity in you to think about that more? Do a bit of fact checking perhaps? Wonder if you are comparing apples to oranges? For example counting the cost of housing a migrant but not counting the cost of housing a homeless British resident on top of the benefits they get in cash? Will you amend your opinion now that it has been pointed out there are many exemptions to the cap you mentioned?
Since you decided to make an appeal to authority could you please explain how Ben Habib is an 'expert' on immigration.Ben Habib
As I said, I have no confidence in any of the current crop of so called MPs and obviously I can’t provide evidence, no more than anyone can. It’s generally accepted that Labour are tax/spend and the tories are low tax/grow the economy. They haven’t been able to do that for obvious reasons.Excuse me, you said "you can double [last year's deficit] when they get in". Actually you can produce evidence because the history of the UK deficit and debt is publically available data. This isn't some mystic ethereal figure, it's just what the UK spends vs what the UK brings in and it's written in ink every budget. You see, I actually bothered to look up and use this data rather than just saying 'some people generally think this so now I think it too'As I said, I have no confidence in any of the current crop of so called MPs and obviously I can’t provide evidence, no more than anyone can. This is the closest anyone will ever come to admitting they were wrong on the internet so thanks, I'll take it.Bully for you
No, I applaud you for spending your time buried in facts and figures. I’d rather just enjoy myself. This is the closest anyone will ever come to admitting they were wrong on the internet so thanks, I'll take it.
Takes like 30 seconds, and I do find learning things to be fairly enjoyable, generally. But each to their own.No, I applaud you for spending your time buried in facts and figures. I’d rather just enjoy myself.
I like to think I explore a full range of political opinion, from A to B....and yours is all embracing
A to B isn’t very farI like to think I explore a full range of political opinion, from A to B.
It's the price we pay for us and our forefathers ruining the atmosphere. I'd rather the future generations have a better planet to live on.Starmer,,, Hold my drink.... its going to be a total shit show. 15 minute cities, More ULEZ, More tax, More immigration and loss of business... I can hardly wait
It was a self-depricating joke Mates.A to B isn’t very far
I know, but I couldn’t resist.It was a self-depricating joke Mates.
And yet the Tories have achieved the highest ever tax take, with nothing positive to show for it.Can you point me to when labour had a pandemic followed by a war in Europe, no one can compare one party or another in a particular era. They have indeed, but I do think there are mitigating circumstances, covid being pretty major. Then again, they’ve had Boris and Truss, pretty tough to make up for that lot.And yet the Tories have achieved the highest ever tax take, with nothing positive to show for it.
...great responseI like to think I explore a full range of political opinion, from A to B.
the only way that is happening is a population cull (War, Famine or Pandemic) which I think they are on with anyway. It's the price we pay for us and our forefathers ruining the atmosphere. I'd rather the future generations have a better planet to live on.
Well, though you may be right the world needs to try to sort out the issues. No, I'm not confident it'll happen.the only way that is happening is a population cull (War, Famine or Pandemic) which I think they are on with anyway.
