Steve Thompson in talks about returning back to the club. He is at Oldham.
Too manyThis forum has to many idiots on it.
Oldham had a call for him.You know that for definite BF? Or is it just a hope?
And going by your spelling, FBF, would you be including yourself in that rather select social grouping, by any chance? This forum has to many idiots on it.
Not happening.Oldham had a call for him.
May be hes dyslexic butt not a idiot ?And going by your spelling, FBF, would you be including yourself in that rather select social grouping, by any chance?
I don't think Critchley knew McCall. I remember reading that they didn't know each other, but Critchley invited him in for a chat and they offered him the role after that.Do we know Critch would want Thommo ? There is no link between the two as far as I know. There has to be a working relationship/ understanding/ energy between coach and assistant which is why they usually bring someone they know and trust.

No its not divisive. Apart from a few dozen wind bags. Who cares? Critch is a winner for this club.I think Critchley needs some crowd pleasers around him in order to get fans on side.
His appointment is a divisive one and his choice of assistant is one way to win back some waining support.
He doesn’t have to be his no2, bring him in to support the coaching team, just have him around the place, I’m sure they can come up with a title. He wouldn’t cost a fortune and he would bring experience, enthusiasm and passion. Really is a no brainer.I know for a fact Critchley was offered Thompson as an assistant first time around but felt he didn’t need the support at the time and wanted his own men if it got to it. By all accounts it wasn’t a case of being difficult, just preference and there was no disrespect.

SS is calling the shots this time I think just because Dobs was asked what he would like to do if he wasn't chosen.Do we know Critch would want Thommo ? Yes of course I stand corrected by a fellow idiot. And going by your spelling, FBF, would you be including yourself in that rather select social grouping, by any chance?

Presumably he will have an assistant or 2?? Any ideas? You’ve been dead on about NC for a little while…It’s not true
Nobody from the club has contacted Steve regarding a return in any capacity as it stands.
But they may have contacted Oldham to get permission to speak to him?Nobody from the club has contacted Steve regarding a return in any capacity as it stands.
Gettin them firing He’s a bit busy!Send for TC
I can assure you I’m not.You are wrong here. I will remain silent let you all brawl on it.
Hope so.loves the club, would be a great number 2 for Critch. But they may have contacted Oldham to get permission to speak to him?
Do it the way football is supposed to happen.
I've no idea whether they have or haven't, but your statement could be true but Blackpool still be working to bring him home.
I’m guessing you know Steve Thompson and I would also guess that SS may know ST because they were in the same year together at Warbreck, the year below me, and if that is the case then I would imagine some dialogue would have taken place well before now.I can assure you I’m not.
I know someone very close to him that’s all I’ll sayand the reason I’m convinced no recent contact has been made is because I asked the exact question literally a few days ago and was told no.obviously things can change and on this one I hope it does because having him around the club again can only be a positive imo.I’m guessing you know Steve Thompson and I would also guess that SS may know ST because they were in the same year together at Warbreck, the year below me, and if that is the case then I would imagine some dialogue would have taken place well before now.
Edit to say if you doo know ST, ST, I wouldn’t expect you to say so on here

Ooooh - you catty b---h!Yes of course I stand corrected by a fellow idiot.
He did, reportedly, say a word - well four actually: "See ya - I'm off...'We need to line up Dobbie as no.2 for the next time Critch slopes off without saying a word.
Fairly sure Thommo is a few years older than SS, so very unlikely they were mates at school.I’m guessing you know Steve Thompson and I would also guess that SS may know ST because they were in the same year together at Warbreck, the year below me, and if that is the case then I would imagine some dialogue would have taken place well before now.

He is, I think it’s 4 years .Fairly sure Thommo is a few years older than SS, so very unlikely they were mates at school.
Critchley doesn’t have that much managerial experience himself, how many top guys has he worked with that are available, not many I would say. Gerrard is but Klopp isn’t.People moaning about us going back to ex managers but wanting another ex staff member to come back? Can't have it both ways.
Normal football clubs allow the manager to pick his own assistant. Why would Critch pick someone he has no knowledge on or hasn't, to my knowledge, ever worked with before, and who probably shares a very different vision to him. Critch does not need to bring in ST to appease some whinging fans. Entitled if you think he does.
He's got a lot more than last time we appointed him, and I daresay he learned a lot in the last year.Critchley doesn’t have that much managerial experience himself, how many top guys has he worked with that are available, not many I would say. Gerrard is but Klopp isn’t.
