Stevenage v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 03.02.24

Points win by a distance in that half, against a typical horrible Evan’s side of spoilers, could have done with a goal in the first 15 minutes when they couldn’t live with us. Kouassi is just brilliant Gabriel and Coulsdon doing well as wing backs, Norburn having a good game but CJ is having a bit of a shocker, he is too weak and got knocked off the ball every time. Dembeke and Byers in for the last half an hour will do us well, Dembele should have started instead of CJ.

Coulsons got a decent delivery on his left foot him and Husbands balls in for Byers who seems to be pretty consistent in the air from those crosses

Played well first 25, last 20 evens. They aren’t great but they play to their strengths. I fear the worse.

When we play football on the floor and up the tempo, they can't live with us. If we resort to long balls, they'll win. CJ has offered little, if he doesn't improve we need to get Dembele on.

Stevenage know how to create chances and are effective at what they do. It’s a battle, simple as, we need to keep fighting and just hope a couple of chances can be taken.

Lavery and Dembele obvious choices for subs late on. Not much point in playing CJ in games like these.

Need to be far braver than this and take a gamble. Really don't know where a goal is coming from. Dembele might get twatted but need more quality on the pitch. It's sadly lacking if we want to win this game.

Co commentator just said CJ contributed nothing the whole game. Should get him off for Byers or Dembele..How does he always get in the team?

I'm one of the worst for moaning when We play badly (because I know We are so much better, and We have some great players).
But honestly how horrible would it be to support a team like Stevenage?... A truly awful team that wouldn't look out of place playing in the six nations.

Too much long ball from us at the moment. Time to switch it about but Critchley won't do that until 65.
