you could say that about most teams and their top scorerTake away the points gained from Rhodes goals and we'd be mid table where we belong.
Itās like heās a reserve or youth coach where results and points donāt matter. The way Sadler worships him probably encourages this approach. Itās like the whole club is more bothered about causes, looking nice, and having a modern approach to training than going being a winning side. Frustrating but we are now going to have to get used to sand pit selections and building for another season under the snake.Critchley said, before the game, that after today there were lots of points available. Felt he wasn't positive enough about winning today.
If Stevenage making the play-offs would qualify as a crime against football, how would you describe it if, by some miracle, we were to somehow manage the feat? A 'heinous' crime against football, perhaps? If Stevenage make the playoffs itās a crime against football, fuck ing awful side which we donāt have the capability or the wherewithal to deal with.
Super frustrating afternoon
I really don't know what the two Muppets do. They seem to write in notepads a lot but zero input. Critchley needs an experienced manager to work alongside and have an input. Gary Bowyer springs to mind.We have a, positivity sponge as head coach. Simon will stick with him, but he and his 2 muppetts need to walk, or it will be rinse and repeat for the foreseeable future
I have a mate who is a Stevenage fan - and heās loving itI'm one of the worst for moaning when We play badly (because I know We are so much better, and We have some great players).
But honestly how horrible would it be to support a team like Stevenage?... A truly awful team that wouldn't look out of place playing in the six nations.
For me this is purely Critchs fault. We needed to bring Byers and Dembele on at around the 60 min mark, but he just stood there watching us struggle. The guy is f****g clueless
If we play CJ we need tactics and a 'play' to get him running forward into space. He can only play if theres lots of space in front of him to run into.
He should have come to were I was, he would have seen someone who was very unhappy with him.Something going on at the end there with critch? He didn't look happy at someone. Was I the ref?
He said āF in Rubbishā to ref. He was poor to be fairSomething going on at the end there with critch? He didn't look happy at someone. Was I the ref?
I think Gary would show Critch up.I really don't know what the two Muppets do. They seem to write in notepads a lot but zero input. Critchley needs an experienced manager to work alongside and have an input. Gary Bowyer springs to mind.
This is all your fault. This has 1-0 Stevenage written all over it.
I take full responsibility for todayās result. This is all your fault.
Are you a season ticket holder at the local psychics too?
TBF it wasn't that hard to predict...
What do you mean, '... poor defenders and strikers who don't score.'? I must have hallucinated that effort at the end of the game from the peerless Marvin Ekpiteta, then!I'm not as pissed off after today's game as I have been after a few others. Stevenage are a shite, shite house of a team who have done this to plenty of other teams. Doesn't excuse us but I always thought we'd get turned over today. I've never bought into this one of the best squads in the league thing. We have poor defenders and strikers who don't score.
This time he's not particularly good in this Leagueand the limit of Critchley's coaching skills
Don't get me started on EkpitetaWhat do you mean, '... poor defenders and strikers who don't score.'? I must have hallucinated that effort at the end of the game from the peerless Marvin Ekpiteta, then!
Better team the first half, without creating anything, descended to their level second half. If we donāt beat Oxford the season is over.I feel for our travelling fans today; bleak.
the signs were there towards the end of the first half, actually the last fifteen minutes of the first half, needed to change the approach not just personnel, norburn does nothing to control the midfield - needed to go, Cj was having a mare trying to win headers against a shithouse defence needed to be on the wing or replaced by dembele. gabriel wasnt getting forward. coulson was overcomplicating things whenever he had the ball, morgan was being forced to play deep and knock balls long instead of driving at the opposition. a shit show from top to bottom franklyFor me this is purely Critchs fault. We needed to bring Byers and Dembele on at around the 60 min mark, but he just stood there watching us struggle. The guy is f****g clueless
thought kouassi was doing ok in the first half but faded in the second. you dont bring on Lavery and fire long balls at him though, which we seemed intent on doing all afternoon. thats what stevenage do all day every day, in training because thats all they can do. respect his badges but being out-tactic-ed by fat man evans something to be ashamed about. He really should have been getting us in the play offs at a minimum.Automatic should have been more realistic with the players he has been given. He was given Jordan Rhodes ffs in League One.
I respect his coaching pedigree but he still fails to react tactically in game and his reluctance for a settled side hampers us imo.
If he has rested Dembele to protect him today I can possibly understand what he has tried to do but itās such a big game he should be starting.Lavery shouldāve started over Kouassi aswell.
I'm sad that we lost today but your's is proper grief. My mum died in the Vic on Monday. I live an hour from Stevenage but didnāt think a trip there today would brighten my mood.
Anyone who didnāt know wouldnāt believe Critchley has been after Norburn for 2 years. Why?CJ, Gabriel, Norburn, Morgan, Coulson and Husband all played poorly. Zero quality from any of them. To play with those tactics against Stevenage, we must be brain dead. I feel for the 700+ who traveled to witness an awful game, and a worse performance. Those play offs look a long way off.
He bent over backwards to get Owen Dale didn't he? And see how that turned outAnyone who didnāt know wouldnāt believe Critchley has been after Norburn for 2 years. Why?
No chance !Still going up
Meal was greatAfter a bright but unproductive start that was a really poor performance. Off out for tea & a few scoops now, hopefully the meal is better than the match (which it will be) unless we order horseshit
To be fair I don't think he blamed the ref. He said it should have been a draw and said it wasn't a very good game.I see Critchley has blamed the referee. He was terrible as they always are but not the reason we lost the game
He said after the match that referee cost us the game, and that he did not do his job properlyTo be fair I don't think he blamed the ref. He said it should have been a draw and said it wasn't a very good game.
Excellent from the fans today. Dembele chant was ace.
How does the saying go? 'Once is unlucky; twice is incompetence.'?I remember people saying it wasn't Marvs fault against Charlton and he's done the sort of clumsy thing today.
Good defenders don't do that or certainly don't do it often.
He's got it in his locker, it's not a surprise if and when he makes one of the major f ups or in this case diverts the ball into his own net, due to trying to play dangerous balls when his body position isn't right. How does the saying go? 'Once is unlucky; twice is incompetence.'?
Exactly, during Critch 1.0 he learned very quickly how to deal like teams like Stevenage. Can anyone remember when we last beat a team that played like Stevenage?
(Actually it was 14 Oct when we beat Stevenage)
Stats were very similar except they scored one and we didn't score. We didn't play enough football, particularly in the 2nd half, and got out battled.
Can't argue with the starting line-up except I would have played Dembele ahead of CJ but Kaddy probably would have ended up with a broken leg.
It's now 10 wins from 16.
Tough ask.
I had an appointment at the dementia clinic and a week later the consultant rang and asked me why I didnāt attend the appointment. I replied, āwhat appointmentā
Just like yourself thenFor me this is purely Critchs fault. We needed to bring Byers and Dembele on at around the 60 min mark, but he just stood there watching us struggle. The guy is f****g clueless
