Stewards stop photos

At the last home game a steward shouted down at me from the top of the south stand
before kick off to tell me to stop taking photos because it is against the rules to take photos of the pitch. Here is the offending 'illegal' photo. Fans around me were outraged at the steward. I spent the rest of the game feeling like a criminal. Anyone else experienced anything similar recently? Felt like something that wouldn't have happened in any period since the takeover till now. Club being a bit tetchy at the moment maybe?20221210_145920_50.jpg

Not the club pal, more like the steward doesn't know what he's talking about, made up his own rule and needs some further training.
Message the SLO & I'm sure he'll clarify the situation.
Brilliant photo by the way 🍊 🧡

The steward was correct, there is a rule against photography and videoing of football games. It’s and EFL rule I believe, not a club one.

I agree there's a rule that spectators cant take video/photo's of a 'football game'
But there was no 'football game' during the photograph.
The players weren't on the pitch so no copyright or EFL protected intellectual property was photographed.....

Tell the steward next time that you want to speak to his Manager......😆

Football Stewards are up there with traffic wardens in terms of personality disorders. Petty minded, bullied at school pathetic turds

Bit of a bizarre rule when you watch a live TV game, particularly premier league, and you can see numerous people filming on their mobiles. Plus how do the vloggers get away with filming the game they’re covering and then posting on social media?

I think it’s only uploading photos or videos that’s not allowed and even then I don’t think it’s against the law, only EFL rules and presumably the club could be sanctioned in theory.
condition 3.6 of the English Football League’s (EFL) Ticketing Terms & Conditions, which says:

“Mobile telephones are permitted within the Ground, provided that they are used for personal and private use only. For the avoidance of doubt no material captured may be published or otherwise made available to any third parties including, without limitation, via social networking sites.”

Did I read they don't like a camera where you can change lenses but are less bothered by fixed ones?

Its always been on the T&Cs of entry for as long as I can remember but it rarely seems to be enforced anymore as loads of folk publish videos showing action etc from games , Maybe some have license to do so but I bet most dont

Dear oh dear..there wouldn't be a game with out stewards..fact. Also I know some are true football fans who enjoy getting paid to watch football...

We are guilty as charged as well, as we have numerous photos with Bloomfield Bear pitchside, which he encourages.
Loads with the pitch in the background.
