Strangest Critch Signing

Has to be Keogh. I wonder if there's a connection amongst the Management team at BFC who 'brought him in' and has left Critch to deal with him. A player who has a reputation for his lifestyle and ways and one whose best days are probably behind him. I really hope Viking and Ekpiteta can resume there partnership asap as Keogh and Husband is a bad League One defence at best.

Pretty clear yesterday that several of his team mates had little time for him constantly pointing at them and telling them where they had gone wrong; Dougall laughed at him, Connolly said something under his breath and Husband gave him a volley back.

I really don’t get the gretarson thing…people calling him the Viking, better than keogh…but for me he was a big fanny, who was on his arse all the time. Absolutely dominated in the air in league one, knocked all over the place. He will be no better in the championship.
I do think ekpiteta can make the step up though, providing he plays consistently. He looked unbeatable last season when he got a run of games.

Keogh/Devil Face is 35 and too old for league 1 let alone Championship level. I can't see him being here that long especially if he starts rubbing players up the wrong way.

A fanny on his arse 🤨

I’am afraid another one for Keogh just can’t see the point of him being here.

His lack of any pace is going to be found out this season and he’s going to be turned inside out more times than not.

Experience alone just isn’t enough in this league.

I wasnt convinced when we signed Keogh but ive liked what ive seen a real leader at the back quite cool under pressure i think theres a lack of pace across all the back four which will hurt us but he was far better than Husband yesterday who looked nervy and was quite negative in his play.

Interesting that Critch has basically brought in a ‘captain’ to a team that just got promoted. Either way he looks past it, and we’ve had a few centre half who have been over the years.

I was really suprised at how sluggish garbutt looked as well yesterday. This has to be one of the slowest defences we've ever had. Wonder if reece James will end up replacing him as his set pieces were terrible as well.

If this was the case. We have a big problem then.

Just as strange as Mugdonald making David Ferguson captain, when he wasn’t even good enough for league football.

It does seem an odd signing, I saw it as a transitional thing, just to help out while we get used to the new level, with no Ballard, and with Eky and Gretarsson returning from long lay offs. I think Williams was a temporary filler last year. He may have come here in a mutual benefit sense to help in training and to learn in training. If he's disruptive I can't see Critch putting up with that.

I have to disagree too - he was the only defender to show any positional sense yesterday (although Connelly had a fair game) . Having said that, taking into account Keogh's lack of pace, I feel he would be better at the centre of a back 3 and if not, used as cover.

As much as I admire Husband he isn't a championship stopper - Grettarson could be.

If you need another player to make up for his lack of pace, then you just need to replace. IMO.

I see Grettersson as a defensive midfield player with a centre half pairing of Connolly & Marvin.
Problem is the time it is taking to get a new right fullback which I find surprising.

I noticed something going on between Keogh and Connelly.

Yes he may be better in the midfield. He's mobile and a good footballer, but he does get knocked about a bit at CH by the more muscular opponents and his injury record isn't the best.
He isn't an Evo, Bapps or Barker!

What Doc said👍

After his up £2m payout at Derby he doesn’t need to play and we don’t need him. He’s slow, past it, blames everyone else and rubs team-mates up the wrong way.

...and at that point Yates himself said he'd been awful, or have you conveniently forgotten that. Early signs of dementia from you given you remember fuck all.
It seems you've conveniently forgotten that the whole point of the dispute was that certain members of our fans write players/this team off too soon, and that you did exactly the same thing last season. Hence, you're talking out your arse. Hence, you know shit all. Once AGAIN.

I disagree.
I think Keogh is a solid c/h and Husband is a solid full back, certainly a better one than Garbutt who is not at the top of his game at the moment.
I'd bring in Ekpiteta and play Husband at left back.
Just about word for word if I was going to comment.

Was surprised when we signed him. Experienced yes but Keogh’s pace is the obvious concern for me. He’ll encounter many speedy attacking players in this division. Transfer window still open though...

He's here to be a defensive coach after his playing career.
Fair comment in a way but if true he’s not going to do a very good job if the players are all getting a bit pissed off with him, he probably thinks he’s a fans favourite due to the chant, but I think the chant is purely done because it works as a chant!
