I'm a bit out of the loop these days. But she has done a wide range of jobs in Government and is a past Defence Secretary. Young too.
Maybe won’t have much chance of impressing the constituency chairmen?

Condolences and l hope it goes well tomorrowYes. My Dad's funeral tomorrow and I saw him once in the last 8 months of his life, because he was in hospital and only his wife was allowed to visit.
Stuck to the rules while they literally drank until they were sick, as you do at work events.
Just how apparent is this claim?Except he didn't, the PM followed the rules with one minor exception, it was the Civil Servants who decided to turn Downing Street into a nightclub, apparently behind the PM's back.
Utter, utter shite. He knew exactly what was going on and joined in.Except he didn't, the PM followed the rules with one minor exception, it was the Civil Servants who decided to turn Downing Street into a nightclub, apparently behind the PM's back.
Just ignore @Lost Seasider I'm convinced he's a Tory lickspittle parody account.Utter, utter shite. He knew exactly what was going on and joined in.
To claim he literally didn't know what was going on is either incredibly naive, stupid or part of Johnson's comms team.
I'm surprised his internet works as he seems to be happily swimming in the political sewer Johnson has led us to. Sycophancy is a truly nauseous traitJust ignore @Lost Seasider I'm convinced he's a Tory lickspittle parody account.
I accused him/her of this before and he or she legged it to the mods.

Like many others, you’ve every right to be angry over this.... tough day ahead for you and yours, my thoughts are with you.Yes. My Dad's funeral tomorrow and I saw him once in the last 8 months of his life, because he was in hospital and only his wife was allowed to visit.

Seriously ?

I can only assume you have a first class degree in “advanced straw grasping”.That's what the police said, and when you look beyond the reporting, the PM's involvement seems to be the odd 10 minutes here and there, in a manner that could be considered work, and the serious rule breaking appears to have gone on behind his back.
Martin Reynolds seems to be at the heart of this, and as the PM's PPS, he was in a perfect position to keep the PM out of the loop.
As PPS his role was to inform the PM of what was going on. To say that all that was going on without him knowing is beyond belief. Care to buy these magic beans I've got? That's what the police said, and when you look beyond the reporting, the PM's involvement seems to be the odd 10 minutes here and there, in a manner that could be considered work, and the serious rule breaking appears to have gone on behind his back.

I dare say MR might have more to answer for, but even if if was possible to organise all that, and prevent the PM from being aware of it, he would have either have fallen heavily on his sword or been left twisting in the wind a long time ago when it all came out.
Ideal choice. Seemingly able to get alcohol to appear without anyone noticing. He did fall on his sword, some time ago (3 February, to be exact).
Rumour is he's in line to be the next ambassador to Saudi Arabia, although surely that must be a joke.
Thanks for informing us on the forum. And this is why I don't bother with this forum any more.

You should have heard what he said about you at the partyI can only assume you have a first class degree in “advanced straw grasping”.
The sooner you wake up and realise that Boris is a complete and utter feckless, dishonest, self serving, couldn’t give a toss about anyone else, I’m entitled, ex Bullingdon toss pot, the better!
Or Peter Bone.Boris needs to go asap, but it will have to be done by the MP’s clearly.
They will have to trust the Party to elect someone who can clear things up. There is a lot to sort out, and hopefully they won’t spend months of naval gazing while they pick someone with half a brain.
I would probably suggest Jeremy Hunt. A terrible Health Secretary, but speaks more sense than any in the cabinet these days OR maybe Tom Tugendhat, Penny Mordaunt or Tobias Ellwood if not?
In essence he’s either a liar or a half witUtter, utter shite. He knew exactly what was going on and joined in.

I know, but that is not the same as publically taking the blame, facing national humiliation and being the official scapegoat for Boris to carry on as if nothing happened.
That would have been his fate if he were solely to blame.
Really sorry to read that your dad had died. Funerals are an ordeal but I hope the service went well - a lovely celebration of his life.Yes. My Dad's funeral tomorrow and I saw him once in the last 8 months of his life, because he was in hospital and only his wife was allowed to visit.

Thanks. It went as well as it could have done, then a lovely reminisce back at The Glasshouse at StainingReally sorry to read that your dad had died. Funerals are an ordeal but I hope the service went well - a lovely celebration of his life.
Good, I’m glad Bet there were lots of stories to tell….Thanks. It went as well as it could have done, then a lovely reminisce back at The Glasshouse at Staining
That's not the story the media wants you to hear, and a lot of this is them re-fighting the Brexit wars through the proxy of first Covid and now this.
ROT, I agree with little you say buy I think you're a great poster on here fellaShould never have criminalised everyday normal human interactions. Feel genuinely sorry for anyone who had rules imposed on them and their loved ones at crucial points by this rabble. I was somewhat cosseted from the worst of it having no relative in a care home or hospital.
Through work I did speak to many, many individuals being cared for in these settings however. Not one wanted to be separated from family or isolated for their "protection". Not one. Hundreds of thousands of old and infirm were put into solitary confinement - a punishment traditionally reserved for the worst criminals - for having the audacity to eg. fall, need treatment, see a dentist, require life saving surgery etc. While these lot had knees up after knees up.
My only hope is that Keith (a human rights lawyer lol) gets done for his beer and curry night so that the scales can finally fall from the eyes of those still seeing this as a politics issue rather than a basic humanity issue.
And you FY8 It's just this site, isn't it? Brings out the worst when you can type and argue without someone telling you to pack it in or stop being silly. Much better to meet and speak with people. Will end my going off on a tangent there but the internet is rubbish Enjoy your Sunday palROT, I agree with little you say buy I think you're a great poster on here fella
Not at all surprised to read this. I'm guessing the drip, drip, drip of revelations will continue, at the weekend there was a report of a birthday party for the Pm in his flat that was previously unreported and uninvestigated. Text messages from Carrie Johnson, that will probably find their way into the public domain sooner or later. So the latest is the Times reporting that Steve Barclay edited out the ABBA party. Pretty independent, that report, then.

What genuinely bothers me is how much more he can change the Executive / voting system / law if he gets another two years. Much as he is the opposition's dream to campaign against, he will keep changing the game to his own personal advantage. It's actually probably better for the opposition parties if he remains in office.
Some unconfirmed reports today that the 54 letter threshold has now been reached. The suggestion is that Johnson would want a Vote of no confidence to be held before the bi-elections as the impending defeats there will add a few more MPs to those who want him out. If he wins a vote of no confidence then he is probably going to lead the Tories into the next GE as they would not be mad enough to give him the boot with a GE pending. What genuinely bothers me is how much more he can change the Executive / voting system / law if he gets another two years. My MP, who is singularly the stupidest person this side of Neptune, maintains that Johnson is hugely popular and still commands the love, respect and support of the vast majority of the people of this country. If I send him an email I'll just get back what he does to anyone who ever questions him...a clown emoji. Smiles.I've just mailed my MP to ask if he's going to put in a letter to Sir Graham Brady.
