I presume we are now out of the running for Cameron Brannagan now that NC has gone?
Be good to get some decent recruitment going soon though. At least it might change the mood music on this board a bit.
 
At least from next week this thread will get interesting again?

Might be time to delete this one and start a new fresh one?

Agree Glass, what we need now to shut moaners like me up - who reckon this is a poor appointment - is a statement of intent by signing one or two quality, Championship players.
…… not seen mention of any in this thread though.

In theory we don’t need a lot unless more leave than we are expecting or Michael Appleton is unimpressed with what we have or wants to bring in more of his own men.
If he wants to assess his squad in preseason first it may mean doing the bulk of our recruitment towards the end of the window.
I think priorities for now are likely to be a ball playing midfielder, cover at right back, and wide midfielders/wingers, assuming Bowler leaves and Kirk isn’t coming anyway.

Agree again, but if you do your shopping on Christmas Eve you end up buying hurriedly or buying what nobody wants.

I think we might still go in for Brannigan - or another similar player that Appleton knows - remember a lot if not all the scouting/identification has been done and BM said the new guy will have input on that from day one. We desperately need at attacking midfielder- probably two - so I am sure that’s an area we will strengthen.

I think his encyclopaedic knowledge was a myth, we made very little use of the loan market and of the ones we had only Sterling was an unqualified success.

18 and 20 respectively, so a bit on the young side, but they've both got significant L1 experience, so perhaps a good shout there unless someone else gets in first.

Fiorini is an interesting one, attacking midfielder, Manchester born and has represented Scotland at youth level. Played a full season at Lincoln under Appleton and is contracted to Man City til 2026.
