Didn't Mansford say in his interview that signings will be delayed somewhat until the new manager is appointed?

I hardly think is spell in Scotland was successful. I would be extremely disappointed if we even considered signing him. Probably one of our worst loan signings. Surprised that Critchley, with is Liverpool connections, didn't manage to get us a better quality loan!

Perhaps his Liverpool connection was Gerrard, once he left Critchley was knackered until he needed a tea boy, then he went running.🤣

It's a great transfer thread this isn't it? Nearly 900 runs and we haven't got even a vaguely, 'might be feasible' inkling of a clue WHO or when we might sign someone, anyone.
I realise that we now have extenuating circumstances and, truth be told, no one's signing anyone much yet anyway.
I shall enjoy the hyperbole fervour when the ball finally gets rolling as it were.

Not sure that there's many there we'd want, the RB's 30, there's a couple of CM's in Jason Knight and Louie Sibley who might be worth a look but they're both under contract and I suspect will attract some interest from elsewhere.

Other than the above Ryan Allsop did 6 months on loan with us in 2017/18, he might be an option to replace Maxwell, but that's about it.

Unless you are Cardiff City and Bristol City, two clubs you would expect would be round about us in the table next season?

Who is he actually talking about as our saviour loanees? Sterling? Wintle? Dale? Kirk? Hardly the main thrust of our team except Sterling. Or is he one of those 🛎🔚s who thinks Bowler and Grimshaw were on loan?
 
This is only a rumour, so I take no responsibility if it's wrong, but I've heard that a certain Everton forward is on his way for a season's loan.

Obviously I'd be delighted to see Ellis return, hopefully he is still keen on a loan to the Championship even if we have changed Head Coach.

He's probably right, he had 4 years left and was highly thought of.

SS or BM on his behalf will be a tough negotiator, Villa really wanted a valued asset.

1m for each season doesn't seem beyond the relams.

No idea what's written into contracts, whether if to prize someone away you'd have to exceed the value of the contract by an amount.

If he was on 500k and had 4 years left thats 2 million just to pay the value out and whoknows how it works or whats written in.

But again SS and BM are no mugs and will have protected their asset in critch should he go.

Think he was talking about the fee for Bowler there.

Hes saying the compo for LR will be around 200k now.

I would also of thought that an element of compo would have been worked into the final figure for Quitchleys assistants as inevitably the new gaffer will want to bring in his own backroom staff!

All we know is he had an age left was snapped up by a big prem club with more money than ever and showing more ambition recently with ambitions of breaking into the top table.

But obviously was our manager but went to be a number 2, although many say almost co manager and brains, a bit like Rosenior apparently is at derby so v important.

Add that to what Nixon said.

If remotely true, then it puts talk of Critchley being no.3, or just there to put out the cones, in perspective.

Tha way i understood it was the fee we got for Critley was with having 4 years left was 'Mahoooooosive'

The fee we want for Bowler would be more than 2M.

He tweeted this morning that we would have to pay around 200k for LR.

I can see how some wires have been crossed, i seriously doubt we would pay 2M compo for LR.

So were not on about LR compo here.

Nor does anyone when talking about the manager fee switch to bowlwr without clearly saying so, otherwise its the manager they're on about
 
Our search for a new manager has come at exactly the wrong time. Whilst the club deliberates and carries out second interviews, any targets may run out of patience and go elsewhere. Even then the man appointed may not fancy the player who has been lined up!
