Kingsfield Home games at Lawsons road
St Cuthberts. Common Edge
Red Cabs Moor Park
The Winmarith. Common Edge and Palatine School
Royal Hotel. Stanley Park
Squires Gate at School Road
South Shore Youth Hampton road
The Beach. Common Edge
Boars Head. Blackpool Mechanics
Clifton Casuals. Lytham Cricket Club
The Dunes. Blackpool road St.Anne’s

Duple FC possibly Lawsons road
Viking FC. Common Edge
South Shore Spartans. Blackpool road St Anne’s

Wesham before they were famous- Coronation road at Kirkham
Clifton Casuals As above
Squires Gate As above

16 Clubs in total.

Started as a slim tricky left winger and ended up as a fat biffer in goal!

Favourite club was Wesham playing in West Lancs Division 2 and taking a few scalps every season.

I’m sure 16 will be bettered but let’s see?

Would have been around 78/79. Roy Atkinson turned up at my house and begged me to sign as a promising 16/17 year old. My first mens team. I remember beating the Welcome Inn 3-1 on Lawsons road in my first game.

mmm.. was it a pre-season friendly as that is what Lawsons Rd was used for by a lot of teams? What position did you play?

Very happy days. Thinking back can’t believe we played Sat, Sun, worked all week, out clubbing Fri and Sat evening….and sometimes Thurs with half price drinks at Bunters and Adam and Eve….I’m exhausted just thinking about it 😎

Happy Days they were Ska and don’t forget we had to fit in training too normally on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I also played a lot of squash too in them days!
 
My first marriage went well:
Friday night out with the lads

Saturday away game in West Lancs sometimes to Barrow etc 11am set off and back after a few jars on way home just in time for match of the day

Sunday morning played for anyone who’d have me

Sunday afternoon played for Clifton Casuals

Then I got divorced! What went wrong people asked 🤔
