Sunderland Sack Michael Beale

Fans not happy Beale refused to shake the hand of a young player when being subbed on saturday, and was the last straw according to some fans.
The young player held out his hand but Beale ignored him.

It was shown on The Championship show.

I see that Mowbray has stepped down from Birmingham for a couple of months in order to get treatment for a serious medical issue.

Top manager Mowbray. Seems to quietly , modestly get on with the job and , in my opinion , does it very well. That's a big win for Brum , away from home and Roker park !!!! Is an intimidating place whether they re doing well or not .
Mowbrays not a cool manager but his team's okay decent football

Maybe they will look at Mousinho at Portsmouth? I'd guess they will end up with some random German coach though.

After him completely blanking a player he'd subbed off this weekend I'm not surprised. Having the fans agaist you is one thing, turning the players agaist you is job ending.

They are a basket case of a club. Never any stability in the last 20 odd years.

Yep, they're now looking for their 13th permanent manager in nine years.
The 26yo billionaire owner (inherited from his father) is looking for his 5th in three years.
The squillions make it easy to indulge your youthful impatience.

Well the good thing about that is a number of managers and dozens of backroom staff will make a lovely chunk of money from him. Doesn't help the Sunderland fans mind.

It was at Birmingham as Blackpool Are Back says but Roker Park is a housing estate now, they've played at the Stadium of Light for 25 years. Roker Park was an intimidating place though.

Although football management is quite a lucrative business, it is (for most managers) a totally thankless job
I’ve said many times that football supporters are so so fickle and after a couple of bad results they want the manager out, regardless of any previous success.
West Ham being a prime example. They want Moyes out now after a couple of poor performances.
Fans never, ever blame the players though, but why?
Preston another example, this season they have wanted Lowe out, then they are happy with him, then out again and you watch, if they have another stutter they will want him out.
Bolton supporters thought Evo had run out of ideas just before Christmas but look where they are now.
If we got another manager to replace Critch, even if he was welcomed by the fans, they would soon turn against him if we had a run of say 2 or 3 defeats.
They always say a manager needs time to settle (3, 4 or even 5 years) but as it is a results business this never seems to happen nowadays.

I was just in king a bit of Roker Roar to my post . Stadium of light Loudness doesn't have quite the same ring to it

Why exactly was he an unpopular choice?
Sunderland are just one of those clubs who’s fans think playing anywhere apart from the premiership is beneath them.
Failed at Rangers and was viewed as arrogant. To be fair, with their support they deserve some success. Mistake to get rid of Mowbray though I think.

That’s shit, he’s never come across as a likeable bloke from the little I’ve seen of him, hope he never ends up here.

Wonder who will be next in the firing line at Sunderland. A lot of their fans seem happy that he’s gone

Beale was incredibly unpopular as an appointment and his reactions at the weekend proved to be the last straw; things were turning ugly. Not popular in the dressing room
