Thanks BFC, but I've done my hamstring getting up from my chair.

Just wanted to try and get more the attacking talent on 😆

Tempted also to give Dale a start, we don't know if he's up to it all we see is some small sub appearances.

Something has to change

Grimshaw
Lyons Pennington marv husband (back up Casey)
Cj Norburn weir Dembele
Rhodes Lavery (back up Marvin)

I would play Marvin up front rather than Beesley as he is better in the air more mobile and scores more goals..Beesley just isn’t good enough to be in a team trying to be promoted. Dale Carey Connolly all decent from the bench and you could argue a case for starting Dale and bringing CJ on as an impact sub.Casey would be unlucky to miss out but I think he is better in a 5 than a flat 4. Lyons simply has to play at right back and Husband is possibly player of the season so far not that that counts for much.

Grimshaw

RB: Lyons (if ok) if not Connolly (not the best)
Marv
Casey
LB: Husband

Norburn (sitting)
Virtue
Weir

Dembele (wide right)
CJ (wide left)
Rhodes

The midfield 2 advanced of Norburn could be any of the ones that we’ve got as they all seem to be the same, Oakley-Boothe seems a worth it signing…

Not great wide options as only Dale can replace and we’re back to flogging a mid 30 year old striker because the others are either injured or quite clearly not good enough as in Jake Beesley- League 1 this season, 5 starts, 1 sub appearance. 0 goals, 0 assists. He’s probably had 1 or 2 chances if that which says it all. No doubts the supply is crap, but his career stats tell you everything you need to know.

Recruitment has been gash again 👎🏼

Critchley now needs to Dembele to become his Josh Bowler which means creating a system to free him up as much as possible to get him on the ball.

We’ve not got the midfield mix right yet either.

According to NC he’s really happy with the squad, glad someone is 😵‍💫

Will be the same starting line up as today. With the same result.

And the same posters will say "Oh well, we never win at Reading" like they said "Oh well, we never win at Wycome" (as if it were the Bernebau).
We're playing Reading at home.😃
And that old hoodoo is off our back we beat them 2-3 at their gaff 2021.

This formation might actually work if he dropped a number 8 and added a 6, so we play through midfield rather than hoofing it.

Grimshaw
Connolly Penn husb
Dembele weir Norburn Thompson
Carey
Rhodes Lavery

We do have some very good players. They look absolutely terrible at the moment though. Suppose the only way is up.

Some of those line ups I agree with but should include Lyons at full back....Dembele should start... Wouldn't include CJ as he's useless...can't defend, had one good game so far (not good enough) possibly a good sub.

Lyons has to play. We have to play a 4-4-2 also. We are not Man City or Liverpool and we are not playing Inter Milan or Barcelona. We have 5 in the middle falling over each other whilst mediocre teams laugh at how uncomfortable we look and stand off us whilst they are leading. All the while Critchley is loving all the minutes in possession probably thinking that counts for something. 🤷

I've not been impressed by Weir at all. Dougall has been there, done it at this level. He scores important goals, he's strong and honest. Morgan too puts in a lot of running into blind alleys and then is easily tackled. Pennington's positioning is all over the place, but so has Marvin's. 2 centre halves who look completely buggered by Critchley's instructions. Make the game easy, make it so that players know their job and feel at ease.

A 4-4-2 will give Dembele and CJ the freedom to run at defences. As we are playing it now with 11 behind the ball defenders are waiting for CJ to get the ball and stepping in front of him making him look out of sorts. The tactics are not working. It is easy to beat this team no matter what the personnel in this formation.

Is Lavery fit? Because although he's ineffective in the current formation then he is marginally better than Beesley who has looked bad! I've not be so uninspired by tactics and formations since Hendry. I reckon Appleton and McCarthy were more preferable to Critchley 2.0. Saturdays are depressing.

Dale 😳 play him in nets.

My mate is a Bolton fan (apologies!) and said that Reading were awful but Bolton just ran out of steam and ideas despite being on top for 75 mins of the game and were killed by two sucker punches at the end.

You can tell that as fans we have no idea as bringing Marv back is shooting ourselves in the foot. Whoever we bring in will fuck up due to not being able to play in snakes "system".

Can’t believe people are still picking CJ, yet fans are having a go at Critch for picking him in every game . Unless our avftt’s will keep CJ away from defensive duties !

Nothing at all wrong with cj when he’s played in his natural position. People to to get off his back. Critchley at fault with his ridiculous formation and tactics

Assuming that Lavery might not be ready, Weir needs to be playing just behind Rhodes and there's a time for Hamilton but its not from the 1st minute.

Except he is unable to control the ball, which isn’t a good look for a professional, international footballer!

Not going to this. Can't spend any more money watching a 3-5-2 with Connolly and CJ as wing backs and don't think Critchley will change it.

Well said. CJ at wing back is a joke. Gets no overlapping support.

Connolly is expected to do the same on the left hand side but doesn't get any criticism. Yes this is Critchley's fault and not the players but it still proves my point. Stop judging players in this most backward formation the world has ever seen. Even I'd be shit playing wing back in this team.

Actually I’m obviously joking, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he sets up not to lose as usual.

Whatever he does on Saturday you just know he will find a place in the starting 11 for Connolly. Which I find strange because we don't have an injury crisis amongst the defensive players and is anybody really sure what Connollys best position is?
The other near certainty is that Hamilton will start which is also a strange choice because he is very rarely effective when he starts a game but can be useful from the bench in certain situations.
As they are both nailed on starters for Critchley we could go

Grimshaw
Connolly Ekpiteta Pennington Husband
Dembele Norburn Dougall Hamilton
Rhodes Lavery

Wouldn't be my starting 11 but I'm trying to get into the, weird and not so wonderful right now, footballing mind of Critchley.

I cannot fathom after watching the shambolic performances by CJ Hamilton at right wing back all season, why you'd then put him at right wing back again.

Yep, best thing for us is to lose if he plays that same formation because long term it's ** awful. It's driving fans away. Losing enthusiasm. And numbers will start dropping watching us trying to take 0-0s with negative pathetic football.

Attack teams. We're Blackpool we don't expect to be Barcelona but we do expect to try and win first every game. Not 0-0 first and hope to scab a goal which is the way we're being set up.

I've seen every game at home under NC and I don't recall any game where the chaps around me have agreed with the line up. Usually the comments are " how the hell did he come up with that side !!" I don't see any difference with the next home game. He'll come up with something noone expects. If he keeps CJ and CC in the same positions then there is something seriously wrong with him or he's being deliberately stubborn.
