Team for Saturday - Lincoln (H)

Has the game come too early for Garbutt? I wouldn’t mind seeing him and Mitchell working together down the left.
Maxwell
Turton Ekpiteta Husband Mitchell
Robson Ward Anderson
CJ Yates Garbutt

Hamilton Yates Lubala

Will probably be too early for Garbutt.
I think the sooner Virtue is back fit and able to get playing the better it will be for the benefit of the team.

Posted mine earlier - sorry missed this thread

My starting XI for Saturday for what it's worth:

Maxwell
Turton Big Marv Husband Mitchell
Williams
CJ Robson Garbutt
Anderson
Yates

Husband has to replace Nottingham, comfortable on the ball, can bring it out from the back and provide a better link to the midfield with better passing ability.

Williams will give the back four more protection when the full backs go forward and Anderson is pushed further forward to support Yates more who is becoming more isolated.

Whilst Ward did well against Swindon, he was anonymous last weekend so IMO is to miss out.

What's your team for Saturday?

Kaikai has picked up another knock and Virtue is ruled out.
Maxwell
Gabriel* Marvin Husband Mitchell
Ward Robson Anderson
CJ Yates Kemp

*Turton if Gabriel hasn't signed. Possibly even Nottingham to keep his height in the 11, but I wouldn't do that personally.

I'd like to play Virtue in the midfield 3 too, but don't think he will.

Garbutt potentially an option for the anderson role longer term and push keshi up to left side of the front 3. With keshi mitchell and garbutt in the 3 left sided roles it gives a lot of flexibility for rotating them around a bit

That would be my team, but I think he won't change too much and ask those who were average last week to put it right.

and that is fair enough really. We shouldn’t write players off after three games but to give those players a fighting chance I do think Critchley needs to alter the Midfield 3’s shape and tell the front three to play a lot narrower. But as they say, everyone’s a manager. 🤣

Thinking about it though, with home advantage and hopefully being on the front foot I would play Howe. Him and Robson were our best attackers against Barrow.
