Thank You Kenny Dougall Thread

Yep - we all knew he was going. No malice at all towards him, he's been a great player for us and a decent character. Got left exposed under Appleton in the Championship in midfield, but otherwise he's been a good signing. Thank you for the goals that got us promoted and you'll be missed.

Thanks Kenny ... from a Sydney Sider ..to a Brissy Boy. 🧡🧡. Some great memories ..and a couple of legendary goals. Best wishes and hope it all goes well for you 👍

Thanks Kenny. He obviously wasn't for signing a new contract whether one had been offered or not and that's how it is when you're in your last six months. Always best to find a new job when you're already in one.

Looked bored on the Ireland tour in pre-season so I didn't think he'd be here much longer but he chipped in a winner v Wigan for us and at least we know what's happening now and Critchley doesn't have to keep fending off questions.

For a free transfer opportunity when the covid season was making players available who wouldn't normally be I think we got our moneys worth there, and so did he. Never felt as relaxed in a Wembley final with him (& Kevin Stewart) running the show in midfield. Other memory of Kenny in english football is him trying to run off a broken leg against Doncaster for Barnsley on Sky. Dave Whelan would have been proud.

Thanks Kenny for the two goals at Wembley and a fabulous day out.
Also thanks for freeing up a place in our squad for someone who wants to be here.
Never forgotten.

😃I actually posted last May that I didn't expect him to be here this season at all. It turns out I was half right so it's been on the cards for quite a while now.
Anyway all the best King Kenny and thanks for the memories.

Thanks for the memories Kenny and all the very best in the future.
(Don't forget to say goodbye though or you will be slated on here in the coming weeks)

Thank you for your contribution to Blackpool F C over recent years.
Your commitment to the team on the field cannot be questioned
Wish you well in all you do in the future.

The thing that impressed me the most about Kenny was that he was never found wanting when it really mattered. A player who didn't go missing when the big occasion came around, and they're rarer than you think.
So, many thanks from me for making a real difference to our season in 2020/21, the resulting promotion, and for giving us some real good times so soon after such an incredibly traumatic, and chaotic, period for our club.
I wish you every success at your new club.

Thanks KD for your time with us.

Need to start a hypocrite thread for those who where slagging the bloke off in summer and had him nowhere near out first team.

Indeed. There was a time when there were multiple threads saying he was garbage. It was difficult for him to hold off most Championship midfields last season when he was partnered with attacking flyweights in the middle of the pitch. But they never saw that and made him the scapegoat. I might be a ** and pull up a couple of those threads.

Those two goals at Wembley will live in the minds of those Blackpool supporters who were there for ever and will go down in the annals of BFC history so never forgotten. We would love you to have stayed but we all have personal as well as professional lives so cannot blame you for that. Best wishes for the next stage of your football and life journey.

Thanks Kenny for being our best midfielder during the time you were with us. What a value money for money player you have been, looking after yourself and hardly missing a game through injury, despite being willing to get stuck in and win the ball. I wish we could say the same of many of our current midfielders.

Which Dougall can't do.

Kevin Stewart- Defensive Midfield
Ollie Norburn-Defensive Midfield
Kenny Dougall-Midfield

See the connection?
KD as a DM was pants his best form has always been as a midfielder. 👍
Yes, but the other two were or are always injured. Stewart for a whole season and Norburn three times in half a season. Kenny Dougall was as good a ball winner as anyone!

But shite as DM that's my point.
The best midfield 3 I've seen this season was Norburn,Dougall & Virtue now we play a 2.
Season we went up Dougall was brilliant next to Stewart a DM.

All I was doing was pulling someone up on comparing Norburn to Dougall same as the other day as someone had a Virtue v Norburn thread.
Kenny Dougall was never a defensive midfielder so stop comparing him to one.

Fabulous player and servant to the club. The most influential player in the last 4 seasons.

Thankyou Kenny.
One of a few as part of the real solid backbone of our sides and our recent successes.

Him, Yates, maybe even Madine, Husband, maybe 1 or 2 more, big characters, big game players, lots of experience. Tone setters.
