The Big Friday Debate

A simple question, but one that will no doubt raise the heckles and draw out some seriously polarised debate.

Tea or Coffee?

Personally, being a centrist I quite like both, bit my staple is probably Tea (preferably in a China Cup - it tastes better that way)… I do like a latte though (bit of a Right Wing drink) but nothing too strong as it makes me a bit jittery👍

If I was going to choose a group though, I’d definitely put myself in with the Tea drinkers as they’re a bit more down to earth.

Coffee when I go out, tea when at home. Usually no more than a cup a day. Just the way I like to live my life...;)

Tea, about half a dozen cups a day (on my second cup already).

A proper coffee around 11am and maybe an instant in place of a tea in the evening.

Rock and roll.

Tea in bed
Coffee with breakfast
Hot chocolate at bed time
Drink tea, coffee and cold drinks throughout the day

I’m afraid it’s probably coffee for me. I got hooked on Costa a little bit during lockdown. I’ve sacked them off though now, obviously 😏 but I still have a couple of iced lattes a day at home.

Tea I really appreciate if I’m very thirsty, but I rarely am.

No caffeine later than 6 hours before bed though, sleep hygiene and all that 👍

Tea at home. Many cups a day.
Coffee when out.
Tea with a meal.
Coffee after a meal.
Tea to hydrate.
Coffee dehydrates.
Tea when sitting with someone who’s had bad news, a shock, or is upset.

Very wise..👍

Do you ask for a Lat te pronounced like Fat or Hat or a La tte as in Far or Car ?

I like both equally, although I drink coffee in the morning every day , I drink tea when ever I feel like it . I have a tassimo machine at home so I vary my coffee styles .

What about sugar Malced?

Have you got a sweet tooth?

Sugar to me is a bit like Mayo to you… I think it’s deadly and should be banned 😂

I’m with you on that. 😀
Sugar can be linked to many health issues. I’m not a fan of it.
I certainly wouldn’t ruin my tea or coffee with it. Never!

I have sugar free syrup in my lattes if I want a bit of bounce to it 🤗

Depends whether I'm having bread and butter with it.

I used to drink ethically sourced, fairtrade coffee from a family-run farm in Ethiopia. Double shot, with soya milk (obviously).

Haven't learnt about coffee's impact on the impending climate catastrophe, I now drink only tap water.

😉

I'm a mainly tea man, around 8 cups a day, but sometimes have a coffee mid afternoon as a livener

If I had to choose, Tea all day long. Builders, obviously, just a splash of milk.

An ethical choice for you then Sven and I wouldn’t have expected any less 👍

Perhaps you could try cultivating your own coffee or perhaps a herbal tea ? Very easy to make your own from foraged plants / levels.. clover, meadowsweet, nettle, hawthorn etc.. all good for a sustainable brew… and nettle seeds can perk you up no end if you need a buzz 😉

Tea all day long (literally!) One for breakfast, 2 when I get into work, one at lunch, one when get home, one around 8.30. Occasionally substitute with fruit tea.

Might have the odd coffee out as the missus loves a Starbucks or Costa if we're shopping or on a long journey. Normally white Americano with 2 sugars. Tends to dry me out.

Tea, and it has to be leaf tea, not teabags full of sweepings. Coffee only when on the continent in local cafes. I have given up trying to find a decent coffee both in the UK and here in Ireland.

Had a cup of tea once, I think it was 1984, never again.

I really don't get why people would want to drink something made from stewed leaves that monkeys, squirrels, birds and bats have peed and pooped on
