The bloody referee

Was absolutely excellent. Barely noticed him. Well done lad.
Was about to post something similar. Yes , can we have him every week. didn't stand for any nonsense. He was assured and non bias throughout, kept the game flowing. Really pleased for Carey... please carry on. Oh and can we please start Koko.

I'm sure Dtysdale is usually hopeless when we've had him before but yep, he had a good game tonight. Apart from it looked like we should have had pen in the second half.

I listened via Radio Lancs and noted that the ref was Darren Drysdale, He's been a very polarising character over the years

He could have made a big deal about the pathetic smoke bomb and object throwing from both sets of fans but just cracked on with the game.

He wasn’t that good come on he missed a stonewall pen handball for us and let their first 3/4 fouls go no booking but booked our first foul. He was average but probably best we’ll get all season.

So he missed a stonewall penalty and failed to book Fleetwood players for similar fouls to us, but yet he was good 🤔

Did think he was very inconsistent with his yellow cards - if he was dishing them out in our direction I saw the equivalent from theirs especially Rooney.

I’m not sure he was inconsistent. Pennington, Lavs and Kenny all deserved their yellows. The handballs in the box were pretty tough ones at the time to call and without VAR refs are on a hiding to nothing. Thought he managed the game pretty well, and got a tidy little bonus from the coins lobbed on the pitch.

Agree ours were bookings but there was Atleast 2 stone wall bookings for them he didn’t bother with. And it was handball and a pen.

The handball wasn’t hard to see it clearly hit his hand while goal bound and he was looking right at it. If that wasn’t enough there was even the sound effect of it hitting his hand.

In the Land of the Blind, the One eyed man is king, as the saying goes.

He looked OK compared to some of the out and out dross we've seen recently, but he still made some odd decisions.

They did 3 or 4 clatterings early on that just resulted in free kicks. The first time we conceded one, he booked Pennington for a pull back.

As for the penalty shout against Heneghan, absolutely stonewall. I thought so at the time, and I've seen the replays since. He throws himself and palms it away. Wish Grimshaw would do that.😉

Always strikes me as odd that every ref is biased against us. And every other team suffers from biased refs too, even when they're playing us.
