Sorry thought this post was about Blair weapons of mass, destruction. How did he avoid being indicted as a war criminal?
No, Blair is the barefaced liar. The bumbling one is currently on tv.Sorry thought this post was about Blair weapons of mass, destruction. How did he avoid being indicted as a war criminal?
No that was a decade and a half ago. Keep up.Sorry thought this post was about Blair weapons of mass, destruction. How did he avoid being indicted as a war criminal?
Summary of Johnson's defence - 'I inadvertently misled the house because I am thick as pigshit and didn't realise what was going on around me.'
No but his nose is getting longer by the minute. Are his pants on fire yet?
No you didn't. You knew what it is about but have tried deflection. It hasn't worked.Sorry thought this post was about Blair weapons of mass, destruction. How did he avoid being indicted as a war criminal?
I try to live in the present myself.Sorry thought this post was about Blair weapons of mass, destruction. How did he avoid being indicted as a war criminal?
Are you the fun police in disguise. No you didn't. You knew what it is about but have tried deflection. It hasn't worked.
Arguably Boris' behaviour led to a breakdown of any semblance of lockdown as it was obvious that those in charge didn't give a shit about the rules or guidelines. It does beg a question - who was the biggest liar?
Boris - defending get togethers at No 10 as well as other previous ones published.
Blair - Lied to take the country to war.
Reality is - the latter is far worse for me, but I can’t stand either of them.
That’s an assumption.Arguably Boris' behaviour led to a breakdown of any semblance of lockdown as it was obvious that those in charge didn't give a shit about the rules or guidelines.
That led to many additional unnecessary deaths of our friends and family.
I'm not saying that. You're conflating two completely different issues. That’s an assumption.
I am not saying you wrong but you do not know that.
The truth is who knows, but both are despicable liars.
…or do you think Blair didn’t take part in a huge lie to take the UK to war?
Very true. Listening to an ex campaign coordinator of Johnson´s on PM yesterday:`` At best Boris has an elastic relationship with the truth``.Arguably Boris' behaviour led to a breakdown of any semblance of lockdown as it was obvious that those in charge didn't give a shit about the rules or guidelines.
That led to many additional unnecessary deaths of our friends and family.
It's not a competition though, is it? We need our leaders to be truthful and honourable - after all, that's how they refer to each other. That’s an assumption.

There are lots of honourable politicians across the parties in Parliament. Of course, the many are tainted by the few bad apples. Unfortunately, some of those bad apples have been appointed to high office. Are you the fun police in disguise.
I actually cannot think of a politician I like from any party and Boris comes way down the list, possibly tying with Blair.
It’s not a competition- I just think these days the vast majority of politicians are not fit for purpose - and many were not back thenIt's not a competition though, is it? We need our leaders to be truthful and honourable - after all, that's how they refer to each other.
And yet it is us, the public, who vote them into Parliament. It’s not a competition- I just think these days the vast majority of politicians are not fit for purpose - and many were not back then
The choices are terrible as well. And yet it is us, the public, who vote them into Parliament.
One of the good reasons why we need a 'none of the above' option on the ballot paper. The choices are terrible as well.
A lot of people just vote with the party they believe in - not for the person standing.
Nonsense. Lockdowns killed more people than they saved and, in any case, Boris' behaviour around this stuff wasn't made public until long after all restrictions were removed. Long after you'd returned to the football for example.Arguably Boris' behaviour led to a breakdown of any semblance of lockdown as it was obvious that those in charge didn't give a shit about the rules or guidelines.

According to who?Nonsense. Lockdowns killed more people than they saved and, in any case, Boris' behaviour around this stuff wasn't made public until long after all restrictions were removed. Long after you'd returned to the football for example.
The parties didn't make the news until Dec '21.According to who?
I was referring to you comment about lockdown killing more people than it saved. The parties didn't make the news until Dec '21.
There's a wealth of evidence for it. Overwhelming actually. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out that loneliness and neglect kill people whereas phone apps and scotch eggs do not do diddly. Clever people like me knew this instinctively but it's good that the social scientists who measure these things have now rubber-stamped my braininessI was referring to you comment about lockdown killing more people than it saved.

Go on, then, I'll bite. Point me to any peer reviewed evidence of what you are claiming. There's a wealth of evidence for it. Overwhelming actually. Some of us were aware long before that. The parties didn't make the news until Dec '21.
Michelle Mone didn't make the news until three weeks after it had been on here. The parties didn't make the news until Dec '21.
Blair stupidly bowed & blindly followed Bush’s lead.It does beg a question - who was the biggest liar?
Boris - defending get togethers at No 10 as well as other previous ones published.
Blair - Lied to take the country to war.
Reality is - the latter is far worse for me, but I can’t stand either of them.
One of the best decisions that Wilson made, and he kept Johnson on side. That is Statecraft. The WMD lies were down to Cheney, Rumsfeld and ultimately Colin Powell’s statement to the United Nations (which he deeply regretted for the rest of his life). George W Bush swallowed it whole.
Blair decided that, after 9/11, realpolitik meant aligning the UK as closely as possible with the USA for the “special relationship” to survive (whatever it is worth, and in defence matters we depend crucially on them). So Blair repeated the WMD mantra in the House of Commons, whether he believed it or not. Despite one million people marching through London protesting against the war.
Contrast that with Harold Wilson who refused to allow British armed forces to join the Vietnam War, despite that we had just fought for ten years against similar nationalism in the jungles of the Malayan Emergency.
And people believed all his lies to the detriment of this country.
220,000 people died through Covid in the UK . Our lack of preparation and early bungling eg delay in lockdown , inefficient test and trace , lack of coherent policy re mask wearing, proper ventilation in schools etc contributed to this. In early 2020 Johnson was missing important meetings re Covid while sorting his divorce/writing book on Shakespeare etc.
