The Critch line “We weren’t ourselves”

There was a genuine opportunity to go for it there and breed some confidence into the squad but we held back, that’s the manager we set up defensively against fleetwood he’s got no balls, shit scared of everyone pathetic little man
No need for the personal insults.
Agenda driven post.

1st half the stood off us, giving us the to knock it around, 2nd half they closed us down, showing our lack of close control and movement (not unexpected in a 3rd division side) but we have no answer to it, just panic defend....a better side would have turned us over 2nd half..😔

Absolutely right. It's easy to talk about game management when you don't concede but a couple of the chances we gave them should have been converted.

I agree with him… I think it is a ‘mentality problem’

I will wonder if it’s a carry over from last year, as it almost certainly isn’t how the players are being asked / told to approach the game.
Critchley's defensive minded substitutions proves he has a negativity about him. Sure go defensive, but not with 20 minutes to go to the end of the match + 10 minutes injury time (v Fleetwood). That's bordering on cowardice

I must have said this 20 times or more…

We absolutely dominated the last 20 minutes vs Fleetwood (following the substitution). It was literally all Blackpool pressuring Fleetwood in the Fleetwood half.

Prior to the substitution we’d had about 10 minutes of Fleetwood gaining momentum…

We regained momentum immediately after the sub and dominated the remainder of the game.

This is were his coaching mentality is at its worst. We were cruising along nicely in the first half. All he needed to say was keep doing in the second half what we were doing in the first. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Ah right, was u in the dressing do u know he didn’t say that? no do u bollocks made up bullshit as usual on here

It’s not a carry over because the players changed over night once we potted the 🦕 last season. This is down to Critch with his negativity and over thinking, this is league 1 ffs!
Play your best team and let injuries and suspensions take care of squad rotation, big Marv being a good example.

Critchley says "we weren't ourselves".

I'd suggest based on what we've seen so far this season we were very much ourselves

I've just watched the post-match interview with Critchley on TTV. He spoke about the messages he put out at half time: keep possession, win first and second balls. I think the lull in our performances comes from the player' over-thinking those instructions, to the point that they become nervous about playing the ball. Perhaps a better message might be, "more of the same lads, press them hard and don't give them space to progress with the ball."
You clearly haven’t got any UEFA coaching badges 66.

Yes, so much so that 2 of the "bounce offs" ended in goals for us.
1 good pass and a wayward flick that Dembele made the most ofl against a non league side isn't enough for me to say he performed well in the game. I say that as a fan of the signing from day 1. Just an honest assessment.
