The greatest of all time

Lennox was the best. He laid them all to rest.

Anyone dispute that LCL is the greatest heavyweight ever?

Please don't nominate Mike Tyson. A great street fighter, but not in the top 50 heavyweight boxers.

Lennox defo the best heavyweight I’ve watched. Not decrying the 70’s early 80’s… I reckon he would have easily mixed it, in them days…..

Ray Mercer might disagree and even Bruno gave him a fair few problems. He avenged his two knock outs but wouldn't put him top of the tree. Larry Holmes was criminally underrated, his jab would have been a problem. Foreman had the physical presence to beat him and Liston is another underrated fighter, his two "losses" to clay (ali) were fishy to say the least!

I doubt Lennox even thinks he's up there with the 70s bunch of Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton.

You've got to remember when Ali retained his title in Zaira and had those brutal wars with Frazier he was 10 years past his peak and had lost four years of his career.

Joe Louis might be better than the lot of them.

Rocky Marciano, the longest serving undefeated heavy weight

At just over 5ft 8 inches tall and 13 and a half stone, he often gave away 6 inches and 2 stone in weight.
He beat them all, including Joe Louis. He often got battered but always found a way to win.

Every boxer above has lost fights, Marciano didn't. He beat the best that were around in them days.

You can't compare era's as the human race has got taller and heavier over the years and training techniques
have improved massively.

You can compare facts and Marciano remained undefeated for 49 fights.

I think you can compare, especially to the 70s, it's the same when people argue about footballers, the talent hasn't got any better and anyone from a different era would have had the same benefits had they been around now.

Imagine Pele, Maradona, Best etc..with todays training, sciences and protection in matches.

Lewis for me also because I've watched all his fights live(TV).
I simply can't choose someone who I've just seen re runs off so that counts Ali out.

But imagine is all you can do, its not a comparison.

I understand where your coming from so based on an imaginary comparison

Marciano's a typical size heavyweight from the 70's onwards, he still beats them all. 😁

Marciano retired undefeated and that can't be taken away from him. Tyson Fury has the choice of retiring undefeated and joining Rocky with that unique status. Sadly, Tyson has chosen to fight Usyk and will 100% lose his title and his rare place in history.

In one of their fights, Ali went 15 rounds with Joe Frazier and lost narrowly on points… even though he suffered a fractured jaw in the early rounds.
