Cracking down on the genocidal criminals who run Israel?

Copping out with a halfway house of a decision?

Or something else?

Over to you.

will it change Israels actions, I doubt it. I won't go as far as saying for now it's just empty words because Israel do need Americas backing in this war and if they lose that then they have a problem.

There is the embarrassment factor, I suppose. Not many countries would like the implicit accusation of serious criminality.

I doubt on its own it’ll change Israel’s “actions” aka as indiscriminate bombing of families and children dressed up as self defence. But really it’s revenge. To keep Netanyahu in power.

But you’re right. If it changes US backing, which includes the supply of ordinance from sites within Israel, then that would create a different dynamic. So far Biden has just tutted tutted and said “you’ve gone too far”. He needs to turn off the supply of explosive devices. And then Netanyahu would have a problem.

not gonna get involved in a big debate on this but have the court of Justice condemned Putins actions in Ukraine? The West rightly condems Putin but do we condemn the nation of Russia or the people of it? Life goes on and once this war in Gaza is over then the people of Israel will carry on getting on with their lives irrespective of what any judgement is made against them as a nation. The Jews as a people will have plenty of credit in the bank and so I doubt that the nation of Israel will ever be considered a rogue state which is perhaps basically what you are suggesting with regards to serious criminality. Netanyahu is likely to be removed from power at their next elections and then subject to what i said in my previous post life will go on. But certainly something needs to change, and it's not imo the words of the ICJ that will bring about that change it will be America's forceful warning to Netanyahu.

Think I'm out on this now.

Biden has a very close election coming up and can't piss off the huge Jewish lobby.

I think if you look at South America, Africa and the Far East you’ll find Israel has already lost the moral high ground.

Because your information comes largely from the West, there’s an element of catch up. But even here, there’s a big reappraisal going on.

Perceptions are changing.

but how far does that perception go? The obliteration of Israel? There is already plenty of support for that!

Why aren’t these people as keen when it comes to war crimes carried out in Ukraine by the Russian military? 🤷‍♂️
As of last november, 10,000 killed including 560 children, 18000 injured according to the UN, with hundreds of thousands displaced due to the destruction of towns and villages destroyed by russian missiles and the world appears to accept the situation.

Exactly.

We seem to have turned a blind eye to what’s going on in Ukraine right now and concentrated all our attention to Gaza yet were all reading about Putin not stopping after Ukraine and even over here we’re talking of recruiting a Dads army to try and stop him. 🤷‍♂️

Meanwhile the UN Relief and Works Agency has been forced to suspend its own staff pending further investigation into their active participation in the atrocities of the 7th October. Yes, the UN!

No, but no one in Israel will listen to the court either, that's not the point, you were suggesting they'd ignored Putin, but they hadn't.
I actually said they’ve turned a blind eye to it since Gaza.

All pointless really as no one will ever be brought to task over them.
