The Next Prime Minister?

I’m going to announce that I’m running today, my manifes is this.

One billion pound to be shared between all households in the U.K., that’s around £37,000 each

1000 small to medium Nightingale hospitals to be built around the country immediately

Benefits to be on a reducing scale until they work

£500 a month automatically paid to everyone in work and pensioners

Blackpool airport to be fully opened with runway expended to take the largest jets

Corporation tax to be slashed to 10%

Income tax to be eliminated, with revenue recovered by increasing vat.

100,000 more police to be recruited to combat crime and bring people to justice

Military spending to be increased to 3% of gdp

Introduce minimum interest of 5% on all savings

Grey bins to be collected weekly

Windfall tax on billionaires, oil and energy companies.

Scrap NI protocol and tell the eu to introduce heck’s at points 15 miles inside Southern Ireland.

Capital punishment for all child killers

There is a coordinated effort to stop Sunak - some of it is coming from inside no. 10 Downing Street, Johnson is very bitter by all accounts.

I've spent the last couple of hours costing this, and you'll need VAT at 500% and a Budget Deficit of about £3zillion a year.

From what’s been reported, there have been huge increases in personnel due the the pandemic. Grant
Shapps said his department had increased from something like 2,600 to over 5,000 due to the pandemic. Obviously something needs to be done.
 
In the past, with the Tories, the people that deliver the blows that finish off a leader never get elected, think Heseltine with Thatcher. So I cannot see Sunak, Javid, or Zahawai getting elected. The Tories will choose the leader that they think will win them the election, and be popular with voters. On a personal point, I am worried that I find Penny Mordaunt quite attractive something I thought could never happen with a potential PM of the Tory party. :)
 
It's got to be woke warrior Suella Braverman, I've just heard she's backed by Sir Desmond Swayne and brexit hard man Steve Baker.

Anne Widdecombe was decent when young although I reckon she'd have been hard work as a lover.
 
Can't we just do it like we do with juries, pick six hundred or so unlucky sods and they're lumbered for 4 years. The civil servants will soon have them in hand.

Fair enough if it’s temps in the Civil Service, not if its 20 per cent off Health, Education, Armed Services’ etc budgets, which was how it sounded.

What's reported and what happened are different things. DWP took on 13,500 on a fixed term contract of one year basis because claims to benefit increased by literally millions.

Staff turnover is usually at around 30% anyway, so the current staffing level is not higher than pre pandemic.

As far as I know, similar Departments report similar figures.

Once again, Tories demonising public sector workers as a step to privatisation where they and their mates can make large sums for themselves with no regard to standard of delivery.
