I thought the chap from Wallace and Gromit had something to do with Preston but my memory is obviously not what it used to be.

I didn't know Peter Purves was from Preston but he shouldn't count as a real man anyway, while John Noakes was away climbing Nelson's Column without any protection, Purves the chithouse was back in the studio sticking it up Valerie.

I'm struggling to think of any.

I'm sort of half right and half wrong on Wallace and Gromit or perhaps I should say my memory was half right and half wrong.

I thought the narrator was from Preston but when I googled it I discovered that the first narrator was born in London and the chap that replaced him was also London born.

So I thought I'd just invented the Preston link but I see the chap you mention - who I've never heard of - was actually born in Preston.

They do say that every day is a learning day.
