The oldies hate the young supporters

Unfortunately, for the young, old people are a solemn reminder of where they are heading and for the old, young people are a solemn reminder of where they’ve been.

So on that basis, the only real solution is to drown our collective misery together, get pissed, sniff some vim and enjoy the game.

Preferably stood up,…. because you’re a long time led down 😉

👍

As you went to the away games, I presume you were Band A yourself?
I was and our support was embarrassing, I remember at city the home support singing why the fuck are you sat down and at other games people getting boxes out with fairy cakes in and blankets ect it was the complete opposite to what are our away support is like these days and thank god.

No chance. The young supporters will be supporting our wonderful club long after we oldies have gone. Enjoy the the energy and enthusiasm that they bring which adds to a great atmosphere. There is a few idiots among them but there are idiots in every age group.

I only took coke up my nose once. Never again. Bubbles everywhere, all down my chin, stained shirt and my eyes watered like fcuk.

Football is one of the few things in life where old and young are united in one focus, supporting the team. It’s good to see them talking about the game and players.

They are an absolute disgrace the whole rowdy bunch of them . Think back to games in the 80s Bury , Rochdale ,Chester , Oxford , Torquay etc when we got the fans of the year award ….. oh hang on .

I loved the days of 90 of us on a Tuesday night at Bath v Bristol Rovers etc but also love the atmosphere of a good turnout. My only gripe is the language used on trains etc when general public there with kids etc. But apart from that party on. Huddersfield by train and pub crawl here we come.

The only thing I have against the younger element is that they have so many more years to watch our beloved team.
O.K. I 've watched 'The Mighty' through our best years so far, and seen us at our best.
However, there is nothing like the feeling on a match day wherever we are in the Leagues, and I wish the best for our younger fans.

What a ridiculous post . Firstly insulting the young fans making out that they are all stupid , alcoholic drug takers and then making out that the older fans who in general did similar things if not worse in their day . Chanting ,setting off smoke bombs and standing up in a match is not going to upset the fans of the late sixties and seventies . Those fans had to strategically either get to the ground in safety or make plans to ambush the opposition fans . These were the days where there could have more away supporters in your ground then home and there was no segregation. So if people think that chanting ,standing up and swearing is going to upset the majority of older fans is bollocks . This is just a post from a board person that seems to like dividing pool fans.
Silly reply

The longer we remain in this division and the more games we can implement a “away attendees” priority the better our support will be. It’s that simple.

The oldie lot hate the youth crew because they’re all rowdy, beery, hyped up on coke and giving it the loud big ‘un with all their chants and their booze and that powder they shove up their bugles…and the rowdy chants driven by snorting snow and imbibing ethanol big style. Some of em even stand up during the game despite having a clearly disabled fan who can’t see the match behind them and turn around and day “hey Oldie, have a line and a voddie and chill you auld Gimmer

They preferred it when only 120 went away and they were Kings!

We've never.only taken 120 to away games. In all my years supporting Blackpool our away support has been very good in comparison to our home support.

As an Oldie myself, all I would say to any of you young uns, is that as you grow older, keep alive the memories of what you were like in your younger days, good and bad, and daft mistakes you made, and you'll find yourself less prone to be judgmental, and to not become a grumpy bad tempered old twerp, 😉 😁 at all costs keep your sense of humour 🤪

Well some of their boring criticism of Ramos and his videos still makes me cringe.
I was a definite NAPM'er but took my anger out at the Oystons and not held a grudge against a 14 year old lad!

As an oldy, first game 1968, I remember pitch invasions by pool fans, coach trips with raffle prizes. 3rd prize 6 pack of beer, 2nd prize a lump of hash, 1st prize wrap of whizz. I remember coming home black and blue and still loving the game!
50 years of memories built up. All power to these young folk, they create a great atmosphere.
Hearing them and watching them makes me still proud to be a pool fan. All power to the Muckers.

Is a wrap of fizz a sort of sherbet snack?
