The Oyston Difference

With the Oystons we always knew it was seat of the pants, we’ll make it up as we go along stuff and our expectations were low so we were either exacerbated or pleasantly surprised or thrilled when we got to the premier league and not surprised when they blew it and we got relegated.

With Sadler we see a structure, we hear the path forward and know the funds are in place to make that a reality so our expectations are higher and thus we are frustrated by the avoidable stupidity of the managers he appointed and the manager who has achieved nothing this year. The only value to this season was Apter improving under Adkins at Tranmere.

Weve had other value. Morgan has developed well, Casey has returned to us in better shape and done pretty well, Kouassi and Beesley have both had good moments, Rhodes has been a revelation and resurrected his career after years of doing nothing. Gabriel is getting back up to speed finally. Joseph is lurching forwards too. We've had all our strikers missing for periods - Joseph for ages, Beesley, Rhodes, Lavery and kouassi, that all hasn't helped. We also have more than 2 points per game at home. We need to identify the things are going badly and the things that are going well and address the failings- which just seem to occur in away games and midweek games! But not just come out with glib derogatory statements like the only value is one player who has played for someone else.

Oh dear voy not been a good week post wise for you has it? That post is like Swiss cheese filled with holes. If the reasons why we are inconsistent and languishing in league one are not apparent to you and everyone else in town then they never will be. Don’t hide behind injuries. Maybe look at constant changing of the team not based on merit, playing players out of position and in a trendy formation but not one that suits the players we do have.

I'm gutted not to make the play offs and frustrated as hell with Critch sometimes but you're right (for now) Voy. Accentuate the positives. We know there will be no summer management upheaval so hopefully the squad will be improved. Next season will be a defining one for all concerned.

"We know there will be no summer management upheaval so hopefully the squad will be improved. Next season will be a defining one for all concerned."

Without a management shakeup, the squad will not improve.

So next season will match this one's defining status - Jekyll and Hyde duds.

I agree with you about some of the reasons for our failures for this season, but can't agree that Apter is the only positive.

And your point is what?

So, are you not willing to wait another season, or heaven forbid another couple, to allow long term plans to come to fruition? Why is it this season or nothing?

So, Critchley gets fired and we start again next season with someone else in charge. If they don't piss the division, what then?

I'm not quite getting the bit where we should be going straight back up or else it has been a disaster. Based on what exactly? You heard what Sadler said 'If he doesn't do it this year then he'll have to do it next season'...which bit of that aren't you getting?

Kouassi and Beesley have had their moments. Give me strength. If those two are our regular strike force next season we’ll be in the drop zone.

No scratchy chin boy, the thread is about the differences between Rapey and Sadler.
The thread is telling us what we already know. The Oystons were doing what no other owners in the country were doing. And hopefully will never do. Sadler is being criticised for football related matters. There is no comparison to be made.

The bit we’re not getting is he said similar about Grayson and Appleton. That went well.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Tranmere were paying more for his loan ,than his salary at Blackpool.

You are right Lytham as far as we know Simon Sadler is not repeat not a rapist.

Any thing is possible who knows I know one thing is for sure the sooner this considered consortium get round the table and make a offer the better for all the fans you heard it first watch this space. In the Box OF TOYS we trust.

1) Sadler hasn't sued any fans.

2) Sadler hasn't asset stripped the club.

3) Sadler isn't a rapist.

4) Sadler isn't a ** with a family of cunts.
Sadler not sued any supporter (yet)

Sadler not had any assents to strip (yet)

Can people stop mentioning the Oystons now, sick of hearing about them.

It was bad enough with Holloway on that podcast the other night.

What have the Romans and Sadler ever done for us?

If you can’t make it succinctly…is it Sadler’s knowledge of football, his other business demands, his distance, his executives, the football management, the recruitment, the conflicting investment demands, the need to build an infrastructure….
12 lines is succinct. Read opening gambit and if you don’t understand oh well maybe try another thread.

His whole 'super stadium' was designed to take money from the club buying his own land and putting it in to his back pocket while also massively increasing the value of a muddy field now only fit for car boots and paintballing.

Except the odd* poster has said we're no better than we were under them.

*very ** odd poster.

The aptly named: what part of long term plans has Critchley accomplished this season? Do we know how to defend or are we giving games away against poor opposition?

Seen any player improve ? Any 1 from eleven who has consistently impressed? Dembele and Rhodes are on loan, Lyons never given a consistent run in the team which leaves Apter who is coached by Adkins. We lose out on millions by not going back up and based on this year what makes you or Sadler convinced we’ll go up next season?

Sick of reading about Apter like he's some world beater on every thread using it as a stick to beat club/owner/manager.
Tranmere are 18th in Lge2 won once in last 6 and despite Rob scoring their only goal last night he still got hooked in the second half.

It will help the lads development this season out on loan ready for next year.

World beater? No. Every thread? What? I spend the vast majority of my time on here defending the club/owner/manager.

Hooked? He got subbed on 72, tells us nothing about his performance or value to the team. Or why he was subbed. He starts every game and has lifted them out of the relegation zone. He is a standout L2 player, who teams struggle to deal with.

Meanwhile our own lack of creativity and attacking purpose has scuppered our season. We produce very little threat from wide areas, and Dembele is hugely overworked and targeted by opposing teams. Apter is the same age as Dembele. So one talented 20 year old comes in to aid his development, another goes out. Sharing the workload could have been good for both of them, and good for our chances of troubling the play offs, in my mind. He would also be far more consistently effective than CJ, in my opinion, too, who gets vastly preferential treatment, holds us back with his regular poor displays, and gets another 2+1 contract. We are allowed to question the judgement involved.

In my opinion. You are entitled to yours obviously.

I didn't single out anybody it was Theoneandonly who mentioned Apter on this thread so why jump in?
Many do on other threads keep bringing him into the conversation.

We don't play with wingers Dembelle certainly doesn't play there so can Rob play in that role who knows do you watch him live every game?

As to taking them out of relegation zone is utter nonsense he's been there since the 1st September and their 18th is RA responsible for them having a shite league position absolutely not.

Many times players need to drop a league to help their development we've had many a loan of the years come to us that way, this is no different, so it was exactly the right thing to do send Apter out on loan not playing the odd cup game, maybe sat on the bench but in the main playing with the development squad.
He'll come back a better player. In my opinion.

He obviously will come back a better player because he's been playing but he could have developed in our team too, and contributed to our season. I believe he is good enough, and better than some of the players we have used. And Dembele could've been used more sparingly and more tactically.

He's been at Tranmere since Sept but didn't become a starter until November, after the change of manager. It's not utter nonsense. I've followed their progress.

Apter would not be playing with the development squad if the right calls were being made. We are not making the right calls. In my opinion. Look at Tuesday. CJ comes back in and we are toothless. Three more points down the plughole. Same nonsense on repeat.

I'll revert back to my other point we don't play with wingers and just sold one to Oxford, what would be the point of Apter being here currently under Critch?
None at all.
