The Rest Of Europe & Covid Restrictions.

An Interesting article from a couple of weeks back looking at what was being done to curb the spread of the virus in other places throughout Europe.

Pretty much all the major nations are having restrictions.

Being so concerned with our own 'plight' we sometimes forget that fact.

I think Portugal has increased restrictions since this was published?

The UK has still been hit hardest by the virus when it comes to deaths followed by Italy, France & Spain.

France comes out of National Lockdown tomorrow,
Spain have introduced a state of emergency until well into next year!!!
Italy has a 3 tier system rather like we do (Or will again in a couple of days).

It just offers a bit of balance in regards to the situation here.

The French have to carry a written statement to justify going out. The Greeks must get permission to leave home by sending SMS messages for daily requirements and can’t go out after 9pm. Italians have to be home by 10pm and wear masks everywhere. The Spanish are only allowed out at night to go to work or buy medicine. Yet Brits moan about every little thing they're asked to do. We're so soft and pathetic in this country.

You have all seen the footage of riots in Europe, right?

It's definitely all the government's fault. You only have to listen to all the angry middle aged fake socialists on here. They all seem to have the gift of hindsight.
Of course, we told you in February that it was a mistake to keep the airports open but carry on...

Really?

You have a link to support that claim by any chance?

We've had this discussion before and the fact is that you said nothing of the sort.

As someone who lives in Singapore it’s probably one of the safest places on the planet currently!!!

It may change but they seem to have it under control.

They banned anyone entering who had been in China in the previous 14 days a month or so ago.

Europe needs to lock down some travel.
From February 26th.

From February 26th.

In what sense is the guy living on the other side of the world, who wants to close down the NHS, "we" with you?

In any event he said "Europe must lock-down some travel" but nothing about closing down all of the airports, in fact it's not even clear that he's talking about the UK in that post.

Note that FCO advised against non-essential travel to China on 28 Jan and against all travel to Hubei from 25 Jan, this is actually a few days before Singapore started to act and is functionally the same response.

Note also that Feb 25th was the day when 14 days quarantine (regardless of symptoms) came in for arrivals from N. Italy, Hubei and a few other places, again this is before Singapore acted so, with respect to the post you are quoting, we were actually ahead of what was being suggested.

Same ol' Wizaard, making stuff up.
