The rotten apples

I keep reading how MM doesn't know what he is doing ,his style of football is sh@t or he's a dinosaur . Yet before he came we had not won a game in the league for 8 games I think . We were not getting that many shots on target and our defence could not stop the goals . All these things say to me is we desperately need a change . So in comes MM . He starts off by evaluating the players he has got and a couple more arrive .

He sees that he has a big job to do and that is improve everything if he can . So he looks at our defence and puts the big guy Goode in there because we have no height ar strength and Madine has to come back to help on set plays . He also realises that the midfielders although they are being noticed for their attacking qualities should come back deeper when needed and defend more ,this adding to Blackpool's defence to help keep a clean sheet . To do this he needs to drop Patino [who I thought hasn't been playing that well recently] and bring in Trybull . A bit more experience ,strength and height.

So we have an improved defence and midfield at what cost to our attack . None in my book because we were not getting that many chances before [check the stats ,could be wrong ] but Bowler played on his preferred wing , Yates played in the Middle and CJ [who'es not every ones cup of tea ]was in support on the other wing. We also had Lyons who wanted to get forward too . So what's changed up front ,not a lot .

We are taking on teams with bigger budgets ,bigger support and bigger wages .The players we think can out play defences ,from Sheffield ,Sunderland and Middlesborough etc .They aren't going to do it too often . So the only thing we can rely on is hard work and supporting that hard work and even more so now Goode and Trybull have got injured . These people that slag the team for not being entertaining are just a few bad apples and should be ignored . True fans should get behind MM at least till the end of the season and if we fail it won't be through lack of trying.

We still haven't won a game and two of the players you mention in Trybull and Goode were not available to Appleton

Oh and they are also both now injured is that now Mcarthys fault?

So all in all another nonsense post

There are some flaws in the argument. Firstly madine has been recognised for his defensive capability by the previous managers, so not much change there. Our principle attacking players, Yates, Lavery, CJ have all been known to put in a defensive shift when needed, the one exception was bowler (last season and early this season) so MM didn't need to identify it. The problem has been a liquid midfield, anchored by a very young passer with the mostly defensive player being the most advanced of the three in mid field.

The likes of Rogers, poveda, Jerry and even CJ plus bowler when the circumstances are right can open up defences. But humping the ball via messers seagull, pigeon and starling isn't really much of a tactic, and we see that defences find it generally easy to deal with.

All in all a nonsense reply . If they were not available how is that an argument and no its not MM 's fault that players get injured ,but if you watch Bowler ,he lets the Rotherham winger go after about 5 meters leaving Trybull to help cover which led to his injury.

So it's Bowler's fault that Trybull is injured?

Never said Madine didn't have to come back .What I wrote was basically a lack of height in the defence with Goode it improved . ALways better to have two tall players then one. I agree that the 3 you mentioned were ones to come back, but fans were complaining that Bowler was being played in the wrong position by being in the midfield and not on his favoured wing. So I tried to point this out to people and Platino has been pretty poor in recent games also pointing out that the midfield had improved as well as its defensive capabilities.

Three of the players you mentioned started the Rotherham game and we didn't get that many chances. Also in respect to this hoof ball football . Did we not knock it about at the back waisting time even when we are losing then panic and hoof it up the field anyway . I don't remember too many times that we played from the back to get into good attacking positions..Man City and Liverpool can do that ,but we are not them

But that's exactly what one infers from your statement.
I inferred that if Bowler had carried on doing his job and stuck with the winger there may have been no need for Trybull to rush back to cover, but originally I believe MM was being blamed for injuries , which is ridiculous.

who’s blamed big mick for the injuries? no one on this thread?

Phil -bfc .Asked the question "Is that McCarthys fault that Trybull and Goode got injured" Which did not make sense to me why he was asking that ,but I felt that he was inferring that it was . He is blaming him for everything else.

As I understand it the players who came in during January were not MMs selection.
No ,but MM put them straight into the team . I am not sure Appleton would have dropped Patino for Trybull or tried Bowler in midfield rather than on the wing.[ok ,it didn't work ,so he put him back ].Something needed to be done or there was no point in changing the manager.

you were doing well for three paras and I was pretty much agreeing with most of it but then you had to go and spoil it with your last para. Just who the fuck do you think you are to start accusing people of being bad apples simply because they disagree with you? And fans are just that! No-one is any more or any less a "true" fan than you. Fans are just fans. Supporting the same team. But yes, 👍 for your first three paras.

Bit defeatist all that really 'we're only Blackpool so we have to be happy with our lot'.

A rotten apple is a term used when there are some spoiling something for the majority . It is not meant as a personal insult. If I wanted to make personal insults there is a lot worse that I could call them. In respect to MM the majority are still with him at the moment or they would not be chanting his name . The ones that aren't are the minority that are trying to undermine the majority ,so they are referred to as bad apples . Now if the cap fits ,that's not my problem and nobody is forced to wear it.
