These are desperate times...

Desperate times call for desperate measure. To score our gosls, put Ekpiteta up front, good in the air, knows where the goal is, it's been done before with other teams, stick Madine as CB where he doesn't have to run as much. Remember when we put Glyn James up as emergency CF, it worked a treat.

Brings back memories of putting John ‘Tank’ Craven up front from defence, also Graham Rowe, both were quite successful in their new forward roles.

I think I'm guilty of killing off Marv's goal threat for now. I was getting between 12 and 16 to 1 for him to score any time which seemed a good use of a fiver. REsult - no headers, no shots, no goals 😗 However, check out his cute lay off in the box in the first half vs Sunderland. Chizzo could have mistaken him for big Gaz there. Sadly and predictably for this season so far we spooned the chance 👍

Whilst I reckon big Marv could do a job up front, the prospect of him missing at CB and the Goal Machine having to make an attempted last ditch tackle fills me with dread. 😁

The small problem with that is we only have 2 fit CBs.
An alternative is that we don't play with any forwards, just 6 mid-fielders, and bring the strikers on for the last 30 mins when they seem to perform better. However I'm not sure we have 6 fit mid-fielders either.

You don’t have to run as much at CB?? How many times over the last season or two has Marvs pace got us out of trouble. Madine would get murdered for pace by some Championship wingers or strikers
He'd get murdered for pace by me and I'm 54 with a torn cartilage ffs..

Wondering where the next goal is going to come from is a common theme at all clubs from time to time and we are no different.
Anyone who knows anything about the game will tell you that if plenty of chances are being created the goals will follow.
I'm actually quite optimistic about what the new lads will bring to the team once they get some game time together.

I wonder if Corbeanu could play CF, he's a big lad and muscles past players when he's on the ball, already scored a few

That's where he spent his youth career, although he wasn't prolific there, it's only since he's moved up to senior football that he's regarded as more of a winger.
