Things you wouldnt get away with now

I was reminiscing about the 80s and early 90s and two incidents sprung to mind that made me chuckle.
1. At secondary school approx '83 I was in science class and was playing with a bunsen burner casually waving it around a large plant. Next thing the whole thing is a roaring inferno much to the amusement of my classmates. The teacher said nothing and I though wow she hasn't seen it. The flames die down and I'm thinking this is weird, the bell goes and the teacher bellows "get here boy" to which I was served a night's detention. Fast forward to 2022 I reckon expulsion at the minimum.
2. My first job working at Bolton Town Hall in 92. A royal visit was imminent and security did a full sweep. One of the lads made a fake cartoon bomb which was round and black with curled wire coming out of the top. For extra effect he wrote bomb in white letters at the front and put it on his desk whilst working. Security inspected it and just laughed, fast forward to 2022 he'd have got the sack at the very least.
Glad I was around in the 80s and 90s it was all a bit of a chuckle.
Anyone else got examples of stuff in the past that was treated as a minor indiscretion opposed to the current OTT reaction.

Kids are unlikely to get access to the Bunsen burner which is a real shame.

I remember anyone who was a bit different was always bullied; looking back kids with autism were treated horrifically which doesn't happen in quite the same way now. That's a good thing.

Watching a gig without a thousand idiots ignoring the band and filming it.

Turning upto a flight with ten mins to go was a favourite.

Climbing over turnstiles to get into games for free

Sneaking over the fence at the Open at Birkdale and Lytham. Difficult to do these days with tight security and old age!
Drinking in pubs in Blackpool when I was 15, difficult now with all the proof of age crap required.
Chatting up women nowadays without being accused of sexual harassment- poor kids today have no chance!

At school in the early 70s the classrooms had sliding windows that had a lock on them. One favourite pastime for the 5th years in ground floor classrooms was to grab an unsuspecting junior, pull there head through the open window then slide / lock the window trapping them. A 'short back and sides trim' was then administered 😩
Police would probably be called now for charges of common assault

Another favourite 5th year 'harmless prank' was using cans of lighter fuel as homemade flame throwers 😧

That is assault though and actual bodily harm. Plus which I’d imagine plenty subjected to it are still scarred by it mentally. It’s called bullying mate…several older people (15/16 years old, almost Men) grabbing a young child (10/11 years old) trapping his neck and then hacking at his hair with scissors whilst he is terrified

Good job you wouldn’t get away with that nowadays

Its not something I did Blood !

I was adding to the discussion of what people got away with years ago that would be unacceptable these days. As a 1st year I managed to escape their attentions for which I was thankful.
