Thinking about our next manager

Big Mick is here till the end of the season, we could be giving him and TC a new deal if they keep us up, or we could be getting someone else, a relatively unknown name perhaps, another Critch type. One name I came across via radio Blackburn the other day is Will Still, current manager of Ligue 1 club Reims till the end of the season, only 30 years old, the youngest manager in Europes big 5, he started his coaching career at Myerscough college

If he keeps us up id love to see Mick have a full season & a transfer window of his own. If not id like to see an experienced manager not too young

I did my latest speed awareness course at myerscough college so as I found it very educational I’ll be hoping he will do as good a job as I did to stop speeding, 5 years on & no points…. Actually if we get him & have no points for 5 years it may not be seen as a good appointment

Agree....young up and coming coaches, including Appleton who I consider inexperienced are difficult to blend with young inexperienced players, which seems to be our model.
As much as I agree with the player recruitment system, I think we need that experienced head to bring them through.

I have to be honest though, I thought MM was a poor choice.
After his first interview I now know I was wrong.
He's got a big job on his hands, a difficult one. He may succeed, he may not....but I'm 100% behind him and TC. I don't think the board could have given us a better chance than with these two......

In Saddler we trust UTMP.

is he the chap whose club gets fined about 40,000 euro's every game because he does not have the correct badges to do the job according to the french FA?

Is it fair to say he needs to keep us up for a longer contract? I mean if we went down would we still offer him a deal?

It seems a long time ago but I followed Evatt's progress at Barrow and trawled their forum when they were non league and it was 100%positive.
Genuinely wanted him before Grayson appointment as I felt he was the right fit.
Since then we have gone through 4 managers with all the upheavals that entails.
I get the same gut feel that Dobbie with a hugely experienced no2 is the way to go.
He knows all the youth, both here and at other teams, and will know who can be promoted to first team which was the way Sadler wanted to progress Also I imagine he has many contacts in Scotland where most of our stand out players have come from.
People may point to his lack of experience but over half a season I bet he would get a lot more points than the experienced Appleton and Grayson, and not end up sacked.

Mate so why would a guy doing so well in the top division in France want to come to us, turn it in ffs.

Nuts and I cannot be arsed explaining why!

Apart from P$G, Monaco, and Lyon the rest of the French league are championship standard, and certainly aren't paying their squad mega wages

No thanks, I don't think that the big M is our long term manager, just keep us please and we move on.

All managers have to start somewhere, got all his badges. Arteta had never managed before Arsenal, Gerrard never managed before Rangers, Lampard before Derby, so some work others don't.
Be interesting to see your choice and how they started the journey, but I can't be arsed

Dobbie certainly isn’t the answer but you were right about Evo. If MM can keep us up and Bolton don’t get promoted then Sadler has to go and get Evo, I don’t see MM as the future. Evo, no ** about, get him here and get back to the original plan which has been fucked up monumentally over the last year

Yep that's him, something like 12 undefeated so they just pay it
This chap? No doubt a draw with PSG wouldn’t be good enough credentials for the toxic element in our fan base, especially given that he once cut up the oranges for PNE under-14s

Can you imagine a young, modern coach being asked what they thought about Cardiff releasing Nelson and replying 'I'm not arsed'.

Brilliant.
